Landscape Enhancements Burgeoning in Oakley
|
City of Oakley beautification efforts continue to make favorable strides. For the past several years it has been City Council's direction to improve the City's landscape, especially along higher visible streets and entry ways into the City.
This week a large coast live oak tree was planted in a new center median on the south end of Empire Avenue, which is one entry point into Oakley. The Coast live oak tree (Quercus agrifolia) has informally been adopted as the "City Tree."

City Council Continuing Steps for "Community Choice Aggregation"
|
Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) is a program available within the service areas of investor- owned utilities, such as PG&E, which allows cities and counties to provide choice for electrical power supply for their residents. Under CCA, PG&E continues to deliver the electricity through its transmission and distribution system and provide meter reading, billing, maintenance, and outage response services. Another entity would be the actual supplier of the power.
Some months back the Oakley City Council directed City staff to join other cities in exploring options to bring the choice opportunity for our residents. A study ensued to explore which entity would be the most capable and advantageous partner. After considerable research and discussion, the City Council has determined that Marin Clean Energy (MCE) would be a great partner for community choice in Oakley.
