Need Mulch? Save this Date
The City of Oakley and Diablo Water District have teamed with West Coast Arborists, Inc. (WCA) to offer free wood chips to spread as mulch around trees and shrubs last year and are continuing the program in 2016 as supplies last.

Wood chips are available for pick-up Saturday, January 23, 2016, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Other dates in the Spring will be established. Oakley residents need to bring their own tools/shovels and bags/containers to load and carry the mulch, and a tarp to cover if necessary. Residents are asked to not take more than 5 yards at a time.

A New Program Called "Shop Oakley"
The City of Oakley is starting a new program in support of Oakley businesses called "Shop Oakley." Oakley "brick and mortar" businesses with a valid business license will be sent a letter with full details of the program. Business owners who are interested in participating will be asked to submit information about a discount or promotion of some type. The City will use this information to create a coupon for the business to be included in a Shop Oakley coupon booklet. The coupon booklets will be printed by the City and made available to the public free of charge at City Hall and participating businesses. The booklets will also be distributed at a variety of community events throughout the year.

Space is limited in this program. If you are interested in taking part in this marketing opportunity, please contact Cindy Coelho at (925) 625-7044 or email at
Coelho@ci.oakley.ca.us. The deadline to register is January 29th. The goal is to have the Shop Oakley coupon booklets printed and available by February 22nd.
