Oakley Youth Summit a Success!

Oakley Middle and High School students gathered with their parents this past Saturday, November 14th to attend informative workshops. The workshops included Delta CrossFit, How to Get a Job, California Sexting Laws & Consequences, How to Help a Suicidal Friend etc. This was the first time an event of this nature was offered. A special thank you for all those who presented, participated and helped coordinate the event.

Our Recreation Division Invite you to Celebrate the Holiday Season with Us! 
Santa Claus is coming to town! Don't miss your chance to see him!
 
Christmas Tree Lighting
Join us at the Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 5th at 4:00 p.m. There will be live entertainment, including the Oakley Elementary School District and the Freedom High School choirs. Free refreshments will be served and there will be crafts for the children. Santa Claus will be our special guest and be on site to visit with children and pose for family photos, so be sure to bring your camera!  The Tree Lighting will take place at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa- $5 per person
Enjoy a delicious, continental breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall 3231 Main Street. The menu will include pastries, fresh fruit, and juice/cocoa/coffee. There will be make-n-take holiday crafts for the children. Space is limited so sign up early. Pre-registration is required at City Hall.

Entrepreneur Training Program Coming Back to Oakley
Last Year's Entrepreneur Training Program Participants

The City of Oakley's Economic Development Department will be sponsoring this 11- week program for existing Oakley Businesses and Oakley residents that are serious about starting up a new business. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend an informational session being held on December 15th from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. at Oakley City Hall, located at 3231 Main Street

The Recreation Division is seeking independent instructors to offer exciting
recreational and educational classes to our community. The Division currently offers various classes and is looking to expand our offerings. Lateral Police Officers: Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant or other supervisory/management staff, the Police Officer performs a variety of duties related to the protection of public health, safety, and welfare and the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws; provides traffic enforcement and control; and carries out special assignments in a particular phase of police work.
