City Council Meetings-- How Can I Stay Informed?
|
City Council Meeting Dates
City Council meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except in the months of July, August, November and December when meetings are held only the second Tuesday of the month. Regularly scheduled meetings are held in the Oakley City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 3231 Main Street and begin at 6:30 p.m.
Meeting Agendas
Meeting agendas for City Council meetings are available on the City's website and also through the City Clerk's Office located at 3231 Main Street. You can also subscribe to receive a copy of the meeting agendas by sending an email request to Kim Carmody at carmody@ci.oakley.ca.us. Access to these agendas not only keeps you updated on Oakley events, but gives you advance notice of upcoming topics so you can, if desired, share your comment with the City Council.
Public Comments Public comments can be provided at City Council meetings. To provide a public comment, a blue speaker card must be completed and submitted to the City Clerk prior to the item upon which you wish to speak is called upon by the Mayor during the City Council meeting. Blue speaker cards are available anytime during business hours at the City Clerk's Office and are also available in the City Council Chamber lobby (inside the Administrative Services building at City Hall) the afternoon of regularly scheduled City Council meetings.

YMWO Citizenship Drive is September 26th!
|
You, Me, We Oakley! in partnership with the International Institute of the Bay Area, will continue to promote civic engagement via semi-quarterly Community Citizenship Drives hosted in Oakley. The next Citizenship Drive is planned for Saturday, September 26, and it will be taking place at Oakley City Hall. During the event, trained volunteers are able to assist in screening applicants for citizenship eligibility through the naturalization process and determine if someone qualifies for a fee waiver. In order to be eligible, a person must be a legal permanent resident for at least five years or three years if they are married to a U.S. citizen, demonstrate good moral conduct and pay a $680 fee, if they do not qualify for the fee waiver.
