Summer Concert Tomorrow! 

 
No plans for Saturday evening? Come out for our summer concert featuring "The Floorshakers" at the Civic Center amphitheater, located at 3231 Main Street.  Admission is free and the concert starts at 6:00 p.m.   

 

The Floorshakers is an eight member band playing Funk, Soul and Rock n Roll.  Bring a blanket and picnic dinner to enjoy the entertainment. The students from Keep In Time Dance will perform before the concert begins.

Now Hiring Police Officers 

The City of Oakley is now hiring Police Officers! Do you know an experienced, high-energy police officer or perhaps, are one yourself? Be a part of Oakley's history by becoming a part of the original law enforcement professionals to make up Oakley's newly formed Municipal Police Department.

 

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant or other supervisory/management staff, Police Officers will perform a variety of duties related to the protection of public health, safety, and welfare and the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws, provide traffic enforcement and control, as well as carry out special assignments.

Still Accepting Performers for the Heart of Oakley Festival  

Save the date to join us on Saturday, September 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Want to be a part of the entertainment line up for the Heart of Oakley Festival? Or help showcase your culture by hosting one of the multi - cultural booths?

 

Interested performers can access the application via the You, Me, We Oakley website.  

 

YMWO encourages multicultural performances; however, it is not a requirement to perform. Last year's lineup included Ballet Folklorico Jaracue, Hip hop Natyam Dance Academy, Kucheza Ngoma II Dance Company, Keep in Time Dance Academy, Delta Road and many other local performers.

Free Mulch Once Again Available Next Week

Need some wood chips/mulch for your landscaping?  Wood chips will once again be available for pick-up on August 15th from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the City Yard at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Residents need to bring their own tools/shovels and bags/containers to load and carry the mulch, and a tarp to cover if necessary. The wood chips are being offered for free through a partnership between the City of Oakley, Diablo Water District and West Coast Arborists, Inc. (WCA).
