Time to Renew Your Business License
|
It is that time of year again, and the City of Oakley recently mailed business license renewals to area businesses. All current business licenses expire on June 30th, 2015, and licensees have been mailed a renewal notice at their address of record. If you have not received a renewal yet and have a current business license with the City, please contact Business Licenses at underwood@ci.oakley.ca.us or 925-625-7016 for a renewal form. If you have a new business in Oakley and do not yet have a business license, new business information and business license forms can be obtained at the City Hall at 3231 Main Street or printed directly from the City's website at www.oakleyinfo.com.

Free Mulch Offered Tomorrow Starting at 8:00 a.m.

Need some wood chips/mulch for your landscaping? The City of Oakley and Diablo Water District have teamed up with West Coast Arborists, Inc. (WCA) to offer free wood chips that can be spread as mulch, around trees and shrubs.
Wood chips are available for pick-up Saturday, June 6th and June 27th, from 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at the City Yard at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Depending on the response, more dates may be established.

Cityhood Celebration, Last Call for Vendors
|
The Cityhood Celebration will be on Saturday, July 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Freedom High School soccer basin located at 1050 Neroly Road.
We are currently looking for vendors to participate in the Cityhood Celebration. This family-friendly event draws up to 8,000 guests, with music, food, bounce houses, giant slides, obstacle courses, rock climbing walls, and the popular "mechanical shark." The event culminates with a spectacular fireworks display. The City is accepting vendor booth applications for food, retail, arts & crafts, service and non-profit organizations. Space is limited.
Vendor booth applications are available at City Hall, located at 3231 Main Street or can be requested by emailing Cindy Coelho at Coelho@ci.oakley.ca.us. We will accept applications until spaces are full.

Save the Date- Film Festival June 13th
|
The City of Oakley is hosting the inaugural Oakley Film Festival on Saturday, June 13th, at the Civic Center Park starting at dark. Films that will be featured are short film submissions from local youth. The goal is to provide a platform for filmmakers to share their art with the community, as well as to provide the community with a positive experience viewing these films while supporting local artists. Furthermore, the Festival also aims to showcase Oakley and the people who make it a wonderful and unique place to live.

Oakley's Outstanding Youth Volunteers Honored

The Oakley Youth Advisory Council instituted a community-wide volunteer recognition program to recognize outstanding youth volunteers in Oakley. Paola Berumen, Alexis Murillo, and Paulette Quiba are this year's recipients of the Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award.

Youth CORE
Youth CORE is a service learning camp for youth in 6th to 11th grade. Campers participate in community service daily, as well as traditional camp activities including sports, games, and crafts with the opportunity to earn free field trips to Water World, Scandia, Sun Splash, and Discovery Kingdom. Tennis Camps
These camps are offered as ½ day or full day basis for ages 4 - 18 years. The half-day camps meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon on June 15th - 19th and July 6th - 10th. The fee is $105 for residents and $115 for non-residents. Read more...
Mini-Hawk Sports Camp
Children youth ages 4 - 6 years can participate in this camp that teaches children the games of baseball, basketball, and soccer in a fun, safe environment. Camp runs from June 22nd - 26th, starting at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at noon.
SKYHAWKS Golf Camp
This camp is for children ages 5 - 9 and meets 9:00 a.m. - noon on June 15th - 19th. The fee is $149 for residents and $159 for non-residents.
SKYHAWKS Flag Football Camp
This camp is for children ages 6 - 10 and meets 9:00 a.m. - noon on June 8th - 12th. The fee is $139 for residents and $149 for non-residents.
SKYHAWKS Volleyball Camp & Multi-Sport Camp
These camps are for children 7 - 10 years of age. Both camps meet from 9:00 a.m. - noon. Read more...

This camp is for children ages 7 - 13. Animation camp meets from 9:00 a.m. - noon, Lego Flix meets 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on June 22nd - 26th. Read more...
