Oakley Pauses to Remember America's Fallen Heroes

In its fourth year, Oakley Council members, dignitaries and over two hundred community members joined together this past Saturday, May 23rd to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers of the United States Armed Forces.

The program commenced with the presentation of colors and national anthem performed by the American Legion 161 and Freedom High School Choir. True to the Memorial Day tradition, the program continued with Delta Vista and O'Hara Park Middle School students decorating a wreath with 6 votives, each in respect of the lives lost in the six major U.S. wars and conflicts that have claimed American lives.
