Taste of Oakley Tickets On Sale Now
|
The City of Oakley will host the Taste of Oakley on Saturday, May 30 from
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at City Hall. This new event will feature various Oakley-based restaurants and caterers who will be serving a dish from their menu for guests to sample. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy different cuisines and sample dishes that they may never think to order.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, no tickets will be sold at the door. The tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase beginning on April 6 at City Hall, 3231 Main Street. A limited number of tickets will be sold.

Two Great Opportunities to Serve Our Community

Have you ever wanted a chance to serve our community? If so, consider applying for two vacant seats, which would allow you to act as the City of Oakley's appointed Advisory Member. The City of Oakley is accepting applications to fill two vacant seats; the first seat is a position on the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging and the second position, would be as a Commissioner in the Contra Costa County Library Commission (CCLC).

Oakley, Launches HERO PACE Program to Help Homeowners Conserve Energy and Water

New form of financing provided to help residents install solar, HVAC, energy-saving windows, water-saving technologies and more; Payments made through property taxes, interest is tax-deductible.
Last week, five cities in Contra Costa County officially launched the HERO Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program, which enables homeowners and commercial property owners to make energy- and water-efficiency improvements and pay them off through their property tax bill. The cities include Oakley, Brentwood, San Pablo, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek.

Community Invited to Monument Unveiling & Exhibit Opening Reception

Oakley stands to commemorate the You, Me, We Oakley!(YMWO) through a bronze sculpture unveiling in Downtown Oakley on Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 p.m. Project Committee members and Program Ambassadors are excited to memorialize the program's mission and the YMWO Welcoming Principles.
Following the celebration, attendees are welcomed to continue the festivities by attending the Opening Reception of the "Roads to Oakley" Art Exhibit commencing at 6:00 p.m. in the Oakley Council Chambers. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy snacks and local wine, while they appreciate the cultural diversity of East County through the artistic pieces of local artists, both adults and students of Freedom High School.

Accepting Nominations for Outstanding Youth Volunteers

The Oakley Youth Advisory Council is honoring Outstanding Youth Volunteers who help make a positive impact in Oakley. Middle and High School students who live in Oakley and volunteer in Oakley and the surrounding east county communities are eligible to receive awards.
