Oakley's Mayor wants to hear from you. Every month the Mayor will visit a local supermarket to allow you to talk about issues, ask questions, discuss concerns, and offer comments or suggestions. There will be no agendas or speeches, just a chance to come out and introduce yourself and talk about what matters to you.    

ECCFPD to Host Open House- You're Invited!

Fire Chief Hugh Henderson on behalf of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Board and Staff invite the public to join them for an open house to take place on the following dates and times at the Oakley Fire Station located at 530 O'Hara Avenue. 
  • Wednesday, March 11 from 7:00 p.m.  to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 14 from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to ask questions that will inform your vote regarding the upcoming benefit assessment.

Drop-off Your Mail-in Ballot at City Hall 

All Contra Costa residents that reside in the 7th Senatorial District and vote by mail- in ballots now have another convenient way to cast their vote. The County Elections Office and City Clerks have teamed up for this upcoming March 1th Special Primary Election to provide Drop-off ballot boxes at participating city halls, including Oakley. This initiative from the county is called the, "CoCo Vote-N-Go." 

These drop-off boxes are secure red steel boxes; one has been located for your convenience in our City Hall, which is available to receive your ballots during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Mon-Thurs., & 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Fri., closed 3.6.15). Don't forget your "I Voted" sticker, which will be provided to you, upon request by our receptionist.  

YMWO & IIBA to Host Citizenship Drive March 14th

Did you know there are an estimated 1,200 legal permanent residents (green card holders) who reside in Oakley and qualify for Citizenship?

 

In support of helping these individuals become citizens, You, Me, We Oakley will be hosting the first Citizenship Drive of 2015 on March 14th. Individuals who are interested in receiving assistance must call 925-237-8581 ext. 11 to pre-register.
 

Spring into Recreation 

The Spring/Summer 2015 Recreation Guide will be distributed to all homes in Oakley within the Oakley Press. This guide offers great new programs, as well as old favorites. 

 

NEW! Youth Employment Workshop- Starts March 18th

Teens Ages 16 and up

Looking for a job? The Oakley Youth Advisory Council is hosting a Youth Employment Workshop so you can learn how to fill out an application, interview professionally, and learn about summer jobs with the City of Oakley Recreation Division. This workshop will take place on March 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
