Free Concert on the Lawn:

Pack a picnic, grab your lawn chairs and beach blankets, and join us for a late afternoon filled with live music and friends on the beautiful lawn in front of Beekman Library!   In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors (in which case, you should probably leave your picnic at home).  Please RSVP online or call (845) 724-3414.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM FINALE:
Jester Jim
SAT., AUG. 16,  6:30 - 7:30pm

Calling all Summer Reading Program participants: don't miss the finale party! This year's entertainment will be Jester Jim, master of juggling, beatboxing, balancing and comedy. Children will receive a free book of their choice and make their own ice cream sundaes, with ice cream generously donated by Stewarts. Event will take place at the Town Center Pavilion. Bring blankets, lawn chair or something to sit on. Registration is required.


BATTLE OF THE BOOKS COMPETITION 
Good luck to the Beekman Battle of the Books Team!  After a summer full of preparations, they will compete at Columbia-Greene Community College on Saturday, September 6, from 6:30 - 8 pm.

What's Happening in the Library?
WE SEEK TEEN GEEKS
Do you know a high-school student with awesome technology skills (especially on mobile devices)? Are they patient and comfortable helping people of all ages? We're looking for a few good teenagers to work Saturdays, 12 - 4pm. This salaried position is paid for with a grant from Dutchess County and qualifies as community service.

READ-A-THON
It isn't too late to join the Beekman Library 2014 Read-a-thon. Ask friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers to sponsor you or your child; keep track of what you read until August 23; and collect pledges to turn in with your reading log.  Ask us for details! 

ONE-DAY BOOK SALE
