CBAA Soccer Crest
Dear Parents & Prospective Coaches -

We wanted to share information regarding our 2014 CBAA Spring IM/REC Soccer Program.  Our registration is due to open next week (12/23).We will post the registration information on our CBAA Soccer website as well as email our membership.

We are so proud of how our program has evolved and grown over the years while continuing to make this a safe, fun and educational experience for you and your child. We hope you will join us for an exciting season of spring soccer.

Please take a moment to review our new team formations policy that is enclosed in this note. The objective is to retain the friendship and community element of the program while also trying to minimize highly uneven teams. We have taken into consideration a great deal of feedback on this important issue after the fall season. We do not expect the result to be major changes in the IM team structures. The intent is to implement some minor adjustments to address the uneven teams issue in a positive manner. We thank you for your continued support in our program and helping us make this a great place to play!

Some other Season notes of interest:

  • Players will be able to re-use their Adidas Jerseys from the Fall or purchase a new kit if desired.
  • The 2014 Registration will be $120, which includes a home and an away jersey, $105 without jerseys.
  • Volunteer Buyout remains at $25.
  • Our online store will open shortly so that you may purchase other items such as shorts, socks, balls and Spiritwear.
  • Regular registration will close in Early February (date tbd).

CBAA IM / REC SOCCER TEAM FORMATIONS POLICY

Teams will be formed based on various factors that include but not limited to:

  • Player Evaluation (U10 - U18)
  • Number of seasons played/experience
  • Coach Request
  • Friend Request

Requests/allowances

  • Parents may stipulate one 'undesirable' practice night.  Every effort will be made to not schedule your child for practice on that particular night.

-Please note this does not apply to u5 & u6 who do not have regular midweek practices.

-The practice night in some age groups may be fixed for multi team (squad) training and player development purposes.

  • On a request basis, Head coaches can be assigned up to two of their child's friends on his / her team as a 'thank-you'' for volunteering to coach. (This includes, the Asst. coach).
  • Parents may request a friend to be on the same team, however, the request must be mutual. If you are requesting a friend on your child's team, the other parent must already be aware and will need to make the same request.
  • If a parent requests a specific Head coach for their child, every effort will be made to honor that request. However there is no guarantee that the child will be assigned to that coach.
We are not making extensive changes to the way teams are formed in the CBAA IM/REC Soccer program.  This policy simply gives our program some flexibility in trying to meet the challenge of forming teams that are somewhat equally balanced for the benefit of all of our players.
