 CBAA BASKETBALL NEWS UPDATE

CBAA Basketball would like to thank its players, parents and coaches for bearing with
us as we waited for what was supposed to be a great winter storm. We canceled

Picture Day in anticipation of the storm and potential closing of the schools. Picture Day has now been re scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd at East.

We also would like to thank all of those who turned out by the hundreds in support of the CB East and CBAA Coaches vs. Cancer Fund Raiser. The boys and girls as well as all of the volunteers extend their gratitude to all of you. Every dollar collected will be donated to the American Cancer Society and will help in the fight against cancer as well as those currently fighting courageous battle against that awful disease.

Please keep in mind that next Sunday, February 17th is CBAA Day at Wendy's of Doylestown. 15% of every dollar spent by CBAA Families will be donated to the program. This type of fund raisers helps us keep our fees low and in assisting families that need help with registration and travel fees.

Finally to a more serious topic, one that we wish that we would not need to address but in light of three recent incidents that have occurred we feel we have to. CBAA has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to demonstration of poor sportsmanship and in particular harassment or interfering with our referees. Two parents have been recently banned from attending games and (yes folks these are games) as a result of this. This is not an action that we like taking but we don't and we won't tolerate behavior which is unruly, un sportsman like and which threatens our volunteers, players or coaches. Referees and security (they are their to help protect property, not unruly fans) will be instructed to eject any parent that argues a call, steps onto the court or in any way confronts a coach, players or official physically or verbally. That parent will then be asked to find another option for them and their child for the 2013/14 basketball season. These are games, players make mistakes, coaches make mistakes, refs make mistakes, and CBAA makes mistakes. These are games; the focus needs to be on the fun, the commrarity, the community.

Thank you.
