IM Spring Soccer Season Registration is open

Dear Parents,

Another reminder that registration for the CBAA spring soccer season is open through the end of January and that you can register by visiting the CBAA IM website or click here to begin your registration.

The CBAA intramural soccer program remains one of the largest recreational programs in the region and provides a high quality of age-appropriate instruction and competition for kids of all ages and ability.  As Program and Coaching Director, Neil Smart remains actively involved on the field to ensure that the program provides a fun setting for kids (and parents) to learn the game, improve their skills and, most importantly, have fun!

CBAA Intramural Soccer  Program Overview

Here's a brief overview of the IM program

Junior Division

U5: parent child clinics and 3v3 games

U6: interactive team clinics and 3v3 games

U7 & U8: one midweek practice and small sided 4v4 (u7) and 5v5 (u8) games.  Coming in the spring of 2013 the u7 & u8 will incorporate a new practice approach to add scheduling flexibility, improve player development and balance the skill level among all teams. Look for more details coming soon!

U10: one midweek practices, continued emphasis on small sided games and age group festivals overseen by Neil where he has worked to establish a series of 'stepping stone' programs that help players transition smoothly between age groups.

Senior Division

In addition to their regular season the Senior Division players also have tournament opportunities and an inter club (JIL) league in the fall.

U12: Neil introduced 8v8 for u12 in 2012 to give players at this crucial stage of development more touches on the ball and more involvement in their games. This age group also has fun soccer festivals each season.

U15 & u18: these age groups play the full game and Neil is available to run training that focuses on technical and tactical areas of the game in addition to focusing on fitness with the ball and positional training and advice. The key here is to keep these players playing the game at whatever level through college years and into adult life.

For those players interested in advancing their skills and testing their game against advanced competition, the club offers Select Tournament options in the senior division at the end of each season.

In March we will be running a series of indoor clinics for Senior Division players and all IM coaches prior to practices beginning (weather permitting!) the week of April 1. Stay tuned for more details!

IM Spring Season

In addition to working with the u5 & u6 kids every week, Neil and his staff also run clinics and festivals for every other age group so all of our IM players get the opportunity to experience professional training. Neil will also be arranging squad training events for u7 & u8, goalkeeper development clinics for older players and the ever popular coaches clinics and games.

If you have any soccer related questions about the spring season please feel free to contact Neil at programsdir@cbaasoccer.com. Neil is always happy to hear from parents and coaches his aim is to create a great soccer experience for every player in the program.

As you can see Neil is working hard to prepare for a great spring season! We look forward to seeing your child on the field soon!

A Special Note to Parents:
The CBAA Buckingham United U7/U8 Academy is intended to be a supplement to your child's existing soccer team, and players are strongly encouraged to participate in the CBAA Intramural Soccer season. The two programs are not mutually exclusive, and players that participate in both will surely benefit from the fun learning environments provided by IM Program Director, Neil Smart, and BUSC Academy Director, Ryan Hayward. Both program directors are working together to eliminate scheduling conflicts, making participation in both programs possible
