Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology 

The Siemens Competition seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team research projects.

 

You can compete as an individual or as a member of a team.

 

Individual projects promote independent research. Team projects foster collaborative research efforts, as well as individual contributions to the cooperative endeavor.

 

Scholarships for winning projects range from $1,000 to $100,000. The research project submission deadline is Sept. 30.

Indiana: PLTW students at Delta, Central and Wapahani high schools teamed up on a Virtual Design Challenge where student teams, made up of members from the different schools, could only communicate electronically ... Iowa: Mechdyne donated $5,000 to renovate classroom space for the PLTW program at Marshalltown High School ... Michigan: Albemarle Corp. donated $30,000 to the South Haven Public Schools to help start up a PLTW program in the district ... Missouri: Twenty-one PLTW students from Timberland High School in Wentzville qualified for the national competition at the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn ... New York: Brandon Bryniarski, a PLTW student at Springville-Griffith Institute, placed first in the technical drafting competition at the SkillsUSA New York Leadership and Skills Championships and will advance to the national championships ... Texas: Lisa Windolph, a PLTW instructor at McNeil High School in Austin, Texas, was recently honored with a H-E-B Excellence in Education Award, which included a $10,000 prize and a $10,000 grant for her school.
