University of South Carolina  

The University of South Carolina (USC) has been a PLTW affiliate since 2002 and hosted its first Core Training offerings in 2003. Since then, the university's Core Training offerings have grown immensely, along with its College of Engineering enrollment.

 

This summer, USC will offer Core Training sessions for 27 different courses at a total of four locations

 

USC's College of Engineering is set to welcome 652 new freshmen - making it the fastest growing college at the university. Sixty percent of entering students say they took PLTW courses while in high school.

Maryland: The Frederick County Public Schools' PLTW Biomedical Sciences program received the 2013 Career and Technology Education Outstanding Secondary Program of Excellence Award from the state's Department of Education ... Massachusetts: PLTW students at Blue Hills Regional Technical High School in Canton, Mass. won the gold medal in Engineering Technology at the Massachusetts SkillsUSA competition ... Missouri: Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, LLC awarded a $4,000 grant to the Hickman Mills C-1 School District's Academy of Engineering program to help expanding PLTW courses at Ruskin High School and Hickman Mills Junior High in Kansas City... Washington: Lincoln High School (Walla Walla) transformed a computer lab into a $95,000 modern science laboratory for its PLTW program.
