Intrigued by the opportunity to predict the response of human exposure to environmental contaminants? The EPA Environmental Research and Business Support Program is searching for a master's level candidate to join the team at the Exposure Modeling Research Branch of the EPA in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, to do just that! Job responsibilities include data input file formatting on meteorology, housing characteristics & air pollution data, analysis of air pollution files, generation of additional input files from research, analysis of exposure modeling output data & application of exposure modeling tools to case studies.

Field and Laboratory Research Technician

Under the general direction of thePrincipal Investigator the Research Technician is responsible for assisting with scientific research and conducting both field and laboratory research activities. Project focus: Quantifying N2O Emissions under Different On-farm Irrigation and Nutrient Management BMPs that Reduce Groundwater Nitrate Loading and Applied Water. The main objective of the proposed research is to collect and analyze greenhouse gas data in order to better model the nitrogen cycle. There are several concurrent projects. Collaboration with those working on satellite observations and wireless sensor networks to characterize soil moisture conditions in agricultural settings for use in irrigation scheduling and management, as well as those studying nitrate leaching to groundwater is expected.

Groundwater Research Scholarship
Groundwater Resource Association of California Scholarship
The Central Coast branch of the Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRAC) has scholarship funds up to $2500 available for distribution to college and graduate students performing research on groundwater resources in the Central Coast branch region (generally, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties). GRAC wishes to support student research related to groundwater issues, water resources management, water recycling and other proposals related to groundwater research. We also have funds available for students who would like to attend the 30th Biennial Groundwater Conference & 24th Groundwater Resources Association of Calif 

ornia Annual Meeting in Sacramento on October 6 & 7, 2015.

The Council of Ocean Affairs, Science & Technology (COAST) provides travel support for CSU undergraduate and graduate students to present the results of original research at marine, estuarine and coastal-themed scientific meetings and conferences, or special thematic sessions of more general scientific meetings.
