You're Invited to the "Griffin Quarter!"

The GPA is celebrating Homecoming! Join the fun at the "Griffin Grumble" this Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. We are sponsoring the "Griffin Quarter," with a rock climbing wall, free throw contest, goldfish toss, and more! Swing by and get your Griffin spirit bands and temporary tattoos. These activities are free for all LMP students and families.  Hope to see you there!

Homecoming Week

We've had a great time the past few days, celebrating school spirit with Homecoming Week! On Tired Tuesday, LMP's Student Government Association offered milk and cookies to fellow students, who were donned in their PJs. The festivities wrap up with "Rep the Prep Friday" and the Outrageous Dance on Saturday evening. Watch for photos in the coming issue of LMP's eMagazine.

 

Pinktober

Throughout this month, LMP's Breast Cancer Awareness Club will be hosting a number of fundraising events to benefit Florida Hospital's Breast Cancer Institute, and promote awareness within the LMP community. Click for details.

Life Touch yearbook photo retakes will be on October 9 in the LMP gym.

PSAT Testing for Grades 8, 10 and 11 - October 16 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Students are dismissed from school immediately after the test.

This week, Mrs. Zastrow's middle school math students had fun showing perimeter and pattern sequences with toothpicks and marshmallows. This unique project provided students a hands-on experience to reinforce their discovery of patterns in math.

Dot Day

We celebrated International Dot Day in the Lower School! This is a special day in celebration of the book, The Dot, by Peter Reynolds. The Dot is a story that encourages individuality, and making your mark in the world. 

 

There are more than 1.3 million teachers and students in 84 countries participating in International Dot Day.

We filled our hallways with fabulous "dotty" artwork and ate dotty cookies for snacks!  Students were encouraged to "Make your mark and see where it takes you!"

Boys Golf brings Home Trophy

The Golf Team finished in style, earning the championship trophy at the Crutchfield Invitational last Monday.Senior, Austen Truslow, led the team as the medalist for the day, shooting a 70.

Cross Country

LMP History in the making: JH Cross Country Championships has a Top #3 finish from Sebastian Kinney.  He finished the race with a time of 12:41, earning himself a top spot in the record books for Lake Mary Prep!  Lake Mary Prep finished off the season with a bang, entering in a total of eight Personal Records (PR's) in their last JH meet of the year! Alyssa Broom-Webster, Christian Sampson, and Sebastian Kinney each led the Griffins, improving their time by over a full minute in their final race.

 

The Varsity Cross Country Team set many PR's at the flrunners.com meet this past Friday in Titusville, with James Novello breaking 19 minutes, crossing the line at 18:55.  Please come out and support the team in our only home meet Friday, October 11!

 

 

Bowling

The boy's Varsity Bowling Team beat Foundation at Airport Lanes with a score of  2,288-2,221. Junior, Vince Zhang, had a 213 high game and a 563 series. Sophomore, Nina Karlinsky, bowled a high game of 156 for the girls team.

Senior Salute

Come out and support our Seniors for their many contributions to our athletic programs. This tribute will take place on Friday, October 4, during the Griffin halftime at 6:45 p.m., and will include athletes from cross country, golf, swimming, and bowling. The Volleyball Senior Night will be Monday, October 7, at 6:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!
