Dear Friends and Family,
I am currently in Port Au Prince Haiti. This week marks the fifth anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti (Jan 12, 2010) where at least 316,000 people lost their lives. Over 1 million people were displaced. Myself, along with many Haitian people, have been solemnly remembering and reflecting.
Left - The rubble behind me is what remained of the three story FOHO building where two of my missionary friends were rescued and four others were killed.
Above - Christians calling out to God for help and healing.
 | | Three and four story buildings were reduced to rubble throughout the city trapping thousands of people and making the majority of roads impassable. Many people died because they could not access medical help. |
 | | Kendra is asked to help at the Delmas 6 tent camp (photo below) where she finds injured people among 200 families who suddenly moved into a woman's back yard. Children and adults alike were traumatized and without drinking water. Trucks were borrowed in the Dominican Republic and 10,000 gallons of drinking water was driven from Santo Domingo which was 30hrs round-trip |
 | | People who survived the earthquake and lost their homes hung sheets as protection from the sun. For many, this camp at Delmas 6 became their home for the next two years. Kendra walked with these families for two years which included the Cholera crisis. Cholera has claimed the lives of at least 8,231 Haitians and 6% of the population has had the disease. |

 | | We also were able to bring much needed water and provisions for the leaders of the Free Methodist Church to distribute (pictured above). In addition, we took medical supplies to our Youth With A Mission friends who were treating hundreds of people at their triage clinic near the national palace (picture below). |

This is the Delmas 6 camp after about 8 months (above). The Lord helped us procure tents to help the 1700 individuals that were living in the camp. Clear Blue Global Water Project drilled a well which the people deeply appreciated.
The land owner began pressuring people to move from the land and we urgently sought possibilities for alternative locations.
|
 | | In January 2011, land was located on the outskirts of Port Au Prince in Croix Des Bouquet, a contract was signed for use of the land for ten years and work began on New Life Village. The Village needed to be ready for families to move in very quickly. |

God sent help from many places and we quickly put up temporary shelters for 28 families - Feb 2011

A well was drilled thanks to Clear Blue and the families moved in.
 | |
The blue tarp shelters were unbearably hot and in May of 2012 we were able to get the families two story plywood homes.

 | | Near the Village we put in a well with a solar powered pump and irrigation system so the families can grow their own food. |

Would you pray with me for the village families and Haitian people as they remember those they lost in the earthquake five years ago. Every Haitian lost a friend or family member. Life is still difficult for many people here. There is a shortage of food, water and basic medical services. Pray that the Lord would comfort those who mourn and that many would be drawn to Jesus.
Please pray for me as I am here in Port Au Prince working on several projects. The pump on the well was replaced and the people have water once again.
Thank-you for your prayers and financial giving. You make it possible for me to reach out with Christ's love.
