Hello! I am currently in Port Au Prince and I have extended my stay on this trip to deal with both some very challenging and some very positive circumstances. I feel as if I am in the midst of a battle between darkness and light. The situations are rather complicated so I won't give the details now but I would ask that you pray.
Please pray for protection as we have had some security issues. A couple of men who had been asked to leave the village a year ago summons me to court so yesterday I spent the morning in court before a judge - what an experience! The hearing was in a tiny office with the judge, a police officer and about 25 people who were all yelling at the same time! Things quieted down after the judge ordered the officer to eject a couple particularly unruly individuals. God was good and sent me a bi-lingual Haitian woman with great authority to advocate for the village's and my protection. She almost seemed like an angel! The judge ruled in our favor and hopefully today the police will act on his orders.
We currently have some GREAT POSSIBILITIES for permanent land for our village families. This would be in partnership with another organization. The village people and I have been praying for this for the last couple of years. Please pray for my meetings today and tomorrow with the other organizations, government officials, and for grace and favor with land owners near the village.
