Jordi Cross (my adopted niece from Davison) and I have been in Haiti working at New Life Village just outside of Port-Au-Prince. I will be sending you a more detailed update as soon as I can.
Would you take time to pray today?
Jordi with the Village Kids
God is good and we are seeing good progress but the work has been very intense. Would you join us in praying specifically over the next few days for God's hand to move in some very specific ways?
1.) I have to vacate two houses and remove two problematic individuals from the village. These men are taking advantage of other vulnerable people in the village, bullying others for their own gain and have even threatened to burn the houses down. I am taking security measures and seeking adequate protection. It is a delicate situation and I would ask that you pray with me for wisdom.
Have you ever been SUPER hungry? Have you ever gone for several days without food? Have you ever tried to study or do physical work on an empty stomach? Hunger is a reality that the women and children in our village face on a daily basis. I was donated some extra nutritious soy meals for the village.
Jose, the professional cook from the UN Paraguayan military base volunteered his leave days to come teach the village people about nutrition and how to cook with soy. He taught the women of the village and we learned together. We made a delicious meal for the whole village to enjoy!
2.) Please pray for provision for the nutritional and hunger needs of the village.
Mending the Fences!
The fence mending crew led by a UN Paraguyan military expert preparing for a days work!
The fences had to be mended and the goats kept on the outside in order for the solar water system to irrigate the family vegetable gardens. 3.) Please pray that we find a person or organization that can give regular orientation and advice for the garden project. The people want to grow food for their families but there are many security and coordination factors that make that challenging sometimes.
4.) Pray that all the factors would come together for this land to produce food for the village people to eat and that the harvest would be so abundant they will have some left to sell.
Solar pump with elevated irrigation tank.
There are some plumbing issues that must be resolved for the irrigation system to work. 5.) Please pray today that God would provide a plumber and all of the materials needed to get the garden up and running!
Poor Donkey!
Even the little ones want tools in their hands to help!
Thank you for praying. If you are able to help with a financial gift it would be greatly appreciated and well used to help the poor move towards becoming self sustaining and knowing the hope of Jesus Christ.
My Heartfelt Thanks,
Kendra
