2012-2013 Lincolnland District Exchange Clubs Best Bulletin Award Winner
This Friday
I trust you all won your pinky-wishbone battles at the Thanksgiving table and had a wonderful time with your family and friends. This Friday we get to hear what is happening with the Children's Advocacy Network formerly known as CASA as Clairice Hetzler will be our speaker. They have a fundraiser going on now at the Quincy Mall as they will wrap your Christmas presents for a small fee which goes to the Children's Advocacy Network

Friday Last

Last week every single Exchangite recovered from over-eating and went out shopping at 2 in the morning on Black Friday to wear it off (right!). President Curt Moore purchased a new calendar so he knows exactly how many Fridays are left in his tenure as President. Meanwhile, Dick Wentura was out shopping and purchased a book about bad questions so he knows what not to ask. Chuck Venvertloh got a great deal on a booked called "So Just What Does the County Clerk Do?" Steve Green also bought a Black Friday book called "How to be dis-organized" so he can see how the rest of us live. Stevie Wellman got called out when the Santa Claus display needed more juice. Steve thought Santa needed more "juice" so he brought him a bottle of Jack Daniels. Have a nice flight Santa.

This & That

This week's 50-50 card draw will be worth over $660. That will make a nice Christmas present for someone.

Charlie Ledbetter can use some help with the "Give a Kid a Chance" Christmas Dinner and Santa visit this Friday night at the Senior Center. We can also use someone to assist Santa by being Time Out Teddy that night as Joel Koch is not available (District Meeting for him).

Sign up sheets will be out on the table this week for the Spouse Christmas party, which will be held on December 12 at Drakes (in the Quality Inn - the old Holiday Inn for you old timers). We'll have good food, an open bar (at least until President Curt shuts it down) and entertainment from Aspen Gengenbacher (Rick's niece). If you would like to go to the dinner but can't make the meeting this week, please let Dennis know so we can get a meal count. As always, the dinner is free to members and their spouse or girlfriends (but not both).

Some upcoming meetings will feature:

12-12 Santa at the Hearing Impaired Christmas

12-19 Jay Craig of Shiloh Christian Children's Home

12-26 No Meeting

1-2 Club Christmas Party

Line (Joke) of the Week

A family with two children went to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was on the table and little Johnny filled his plate and began to eat when his mother said "Johnny put your fork down, we haven't said the prayer yet. We always say a prayer before we eat at our house and we need to do that here at Grandmas. So please say the prayer now". Little Johnny looked up and said "we don't need to say a prayer at Grandma's house because she knows how to cook."
