This & That

A few notes to pass along from last week. Gary Farha is recuperating after undergoing foot surgery. The Jackpot is still below the $400 mark so the pot is still at $200 for the winner of the 50-50 card draw.

Our condolences to the Lavery family as William Neuser passed away last week. Mr. Neuser was married to Kathleen Lavery Neuser (Mike and Rich's sister).

Congratulations to Carlos Fernandez, the General Manger of WGEM-TV which was awarded the Station of the Year honors at the Illinois Broadcaster's Association.

For those who are delinquent in paying, please remember to send in your dues.

The National Convention is being held in New Orleans this week.

Our club will be hosting the District Convention next year as well. This will take some assistance from Club members to pull it off so please step up if asked to assist.

To make this joke funny please replace the word POSTERIOR with the three letter word that begins with

"A--" that means the same thing.

There is a new study out about women and how they feel about their POSTERIOR. The results were pretty interesting. 85% of women think their POSTERIOR is too big. 10% of women think their POSTERIOR is too small. The other 5% say they don't care. They love him and would have married him anyway. I guess I never met those 5%

Exchange Education
We're going to add a new feature this year for Exchange Education. Each week, we'll have a short piece of information on Exchange's history, Programs of Service and other information about the National Exchange Club.

This week is the 96th convention of the National Exchange Club and the fourth to be held in New Orleans. The first national convention was held in Toledo, Ohio in 1917 and has been held annually since, with the exceptions of 1942 and 1945, when no convention was held. Charles A. Berkey, recognized as the founder of Exchange, was elected president at the first convention when the four existing clubs met after formally incorporating the National Exchange Club the month before.

Exchangites will elect a new president-elect Friday from a field of four candidates and will install Tom Karnes as National President on Saturday. Tom is the Mayor of Lincoln Park, MI and was elected national president-elect at the 95th national convention last year in Greensboro, NC.

Tom has selected the theme "Living Exchange - Investigating he Possibilities" for 2014-15, reflecting his career in law enforcement.
