Club Meets at Noon each Friday at Stoney Creek Inn, 3809 Broadway in Quincy
2012-2013 Lincolnland District Exchange Clubs Best Bulletin Award Winner
This Friday

This Friday we will NOT meet as it is Independence Day or the Fourth of July as most people now call it. It is a day filled with fireworks, hot dogs, BBQs, beaches, picnics and other Fourth of July events that make this summer holiday one of our favorites. So enjoy the anniversary of the publication of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain in 1776. Happy 238th birthday, America.

Chuck Venvertloh led us in prayer in his final meeting as President. Mel Dillman began the pledge without hesitation as he blurted out "I" to get the membership started.

Last Friday we conducted the installation of our new officers for the Exchange Club as President Chuck Venvertloh vacated his seat to incoming President Curt Moore. The swearing in ceremony brought a tear to the eye of many in the house. It was quite the emotional event with outgoing President Chuck receiving several "sitting" ovations for his past work.

Dennis Koch conducted the induction ceremony which included the traditional "State Your Name" segment.

Here is the list of officers sworn in for the upcoming year:

President: Curt Moore

President Elect (1st VP): Jared Haugh

Vice President (2nd VP): Brian Koch

Secretary: Cullan Duke

Immediate Past President: Chuck Venvertloh

The new board that was also sworn in is as follows:

This & That

Before turning over the reins, Chuck Venvertloh thanked all the committee chairmen for their work under his tenure. He also reminded those who owe their dues to please take care of that as soon as possible. Chuck also reminded everyone that the National Convention will be held in New Orleans on July 9th thru the 12th. Plus our club will be hosting the District Convention next year as well.

Speaking of the District Convention, Dennis Koch announced that the Club won the 5A's Award for the projects that we do at last week's District gathering. Believe it or not, the Club was involved in 34 different projects primarily involving youth events last year.

In Curt Moore's welcoming speech he mentioned he would like to see us get involved with some projects involving the Children's Advocacy Program as well as the Teen Reach Program during his year ahead.

At the conclusion of his comments he then announced that Jeff Dorsey was the winner of the Exchangite of the Year Award. On a personal note...Thank you to those who considered me to be worthy of this prestigious award. My thanks to Dick Wentura who asked me to join the Club and who sponsored me years ago. As I mentioned Friday, no one looks forward to each Friday more than I do. I truly enjoy the company of all the guys in the club. My life has me running 120 miles an hour every single day and for the short time I am at the Club each week I relish the opportunity to relax and laugh a little to end my week. Thank you to those who selected me. It is quite an honor and I appreciate it.

Eric Frese had the correct ticket number for the 50-50 card draw but drew a Jack of Hearts so the pot, yet to get to the $400 mark in total, remains at $200.
