It was our Quincy Exchange Club Annual Christmas Lunch meeting at the Quincy Boat Club and a fabulous steak and baked potato meal was enjoyed by all. Thanks to J.J's Catering for saving the best for last.

The "Big Dog" presented the news in the name of the late John Tripp. The news ranged from garbage stickers to Santa's romance with Mrs. Claus.   A big thanks to Steve Peters and Dave Grimm who served as bartenders and to Rick Gengenbacher for organizing the lunch.

Survey Results are in

Last fall, Doug Greenwell took on the assignment of formulating a survey for the membership to participate in. Here are the highlights of that survey that was done. Overall, members feel like we are doing a great job.

  1. Making a difference in having fun while doing it is the biggest reason for being a member.
  2. We are succeeding in meeting those goals
  3. More participation by more members in projects is the most pressing issue.
  4. A new member integration process is being developed and will be announced fairly soon.
  5. New major fundraising projects are needed to perpetuate our community support.
Hat's off to Doug for handling this very important Club project.

This & That

Our meeting got off to great start with our prayer delivered by Mike Lavery which was followed by Mayor Kyle Moore's very strong delivery of the word "I" to begin the pledge.

President Chuck Venvertloh again made reference to his beloved "Romo-less" Dallas Cowboys. When is the boy ever going to learn?

President Venvertloh thanked Rick Gengenbacher for organizing the Christmas luncheon at the Quincy Boat Club.

Chuck also thanked Dennis Koch for chairing the annual Spouse's Christmas Party. Some 65 people were in attendance at the Holiday Inn last Friday night. Speaking of spouses....

Some people take the opportunity during the holidays to get married and that happened to one of our members (NOT me). Congratulations to Dan Niemann (picture) who married Susan Pierson. Both are great people and we wish them all the best.

There was no 50-50 card draw Friday so the pot remains at $508 and climbing this Friday.

We had one guest at Friday's meeting and that was Kent Anderson's son, Matt ( a former Gus Macker helper).

Mark your calendars. The annual visit by Rick Hummel will take place on Friday, January 24th which is a change from previous calendars.

Line of the Week

Belongs to Dennis Koch who, after seeing the Big Dog pointing to the sky after referencing John Tripp during "The News", asked

 - "Why are you pointing that way?"
