Good to see John Spring back with us as he led us in prayers to begin the meeting. Dennis Koch stayed awake all night studying the first word of the Pledge of Allegiance. Jeff Dorsey took care of the tail twisting duties and told a joke about plastic surgery. I challenge any member in attendance to ask someone to guess their age after that.
Special guests of Danny Veihl were Chris Scarano and Bob Havermale. Both are affiliated with the Fishing for Freedom Event held earlier this summer.
Mel Dillman announced the distribution of raffle tickets to sell with four different teams competing for best sales. Captains of those teams are David Adam, Rick Veihl, Gary Peters and Perry Terwelp. We are selling tickets to win a 2013 Kawasaki four-wheel ATV valued at $7500. With Smoke on the River 6 weeks away we need everyone to sell their set of tickets and more if possible.
Mel also announced that fliers are now available for members to distribute to help get the word out about the September 6th and 7th event.
Don't forget there is a Smoke on the River meeting every Tuesday, including tonight (July 30th) at 5:30pm at The Dock. Everyone is welcomed to attend the meeting. Plus we still are in need of a Chairman for next year's Smoke on the River event. Someone please step up!

Speaking of Chuck, he officially recognized Dennis Koch as being elected Vice President of the National Exchange Club Foundation in a ceremony at the Exchange Club's National Convention.
Chuck also announced that Doug Greenwell has agreed to Chair the Blue Ribbon Project with Steve Labs next year. For those new members, this is where the Club sells blue ribbons with the money going to our Child Abuse Prevention Program. Thanks Doug for stepping up.
The Exchange Club is part of Chili Dog Day on September 13th and is in need of a person to chair this event. It is part of the Blues in the District on that day. If interested, contact President Venvertloh.
With only 18 cards remaining in the deck including the winning Ace of Spades, Joe Bocke had the winning ticket but drew the Jack of Diamonds. According to Curt Moore, the pot was worth $1,336 so it will be more than that this Friday unless Curt purchases a new set of golf clubs this week.
