This Friday
This Friday we are back at what is now known as "Eagle's Nest" formerly America's Best Value Inn with our special guest Scott Douglas. Scott will be talking about "Catholic Heart". Not to be confused with "Protestant Heart" or "Jewish Heart". As you can tell, I have no other information regarding this Friday's topic. I guess we will all find out together. We will also induct our new officers and directors for the Club and announce the name of our Exchangite of the Year and Distinguished Service Award recipients.o join us Friday for Quincy's finest (and Perry's final presidential) hour!

Friday Last
Last Friday we assembled at Spring Lake Country Club for our meeting and the Club's annual (not so Master's like) golf outing. More on that later. We dined on hot dogs, brats and hamburgers prior to teeing off. Once the food was devoured, some went back to work and others headed to the golf course. The team of Cory Watson, Chris Parker, Carlos Fernandez and Dave Grimm captured first place with a total of 11 under par which included 2 eagles as well. They received golf balls for their efforts which I never understand. Guys that play that well never lose their golf balls. I lost track of how many groups we had playing but I believe they were around 7 or 8 teams. Nice turnout on a very hot 93 degree day. I enjoyed playing in the Exchange Club Jenny Craig Open. Hats off to Jared Haugh for chairing the event as it went off without a flaw except for the gnats of which two were swallowed by the Big Dog.

This & That
Jared Haugh got things going with a rousing prayer followed by Perry Terwelp's "I" to initiate the Pledge of Allegiance. Jared then handled the Tail Twisting duties as well.
President Perry, in his next to the last meeting as head honcho announced the name change of America's Best Value Inn to "Eagle'sNest". It is just a name change so we will continue to meet there on Fridays. Perry also took time to complement Jeff Dorsey (that be me) for putting together a 5 page bulletin last week. There was a lot that went on that week.
President Terwelp thanks Jared Haugh for handling the golf outing. Jared countered that "it took 5 minutes to put the teams together".
Chuck Venvertloh conducted the card draw which was worth over a thousand dollars. Steve Green had the winning ticket but drew a Queen of Diamonds which is what I try to find every Friday or Saturday night. So the pot continues to grow.
Things are progressing smoothly for "Smoke on the River" which will be held on September 6th and 7th. Mel Dillman is chairing this event and is still looking for someone to step up and chair next years.
Be advised that the Exchange Club Board of Directors voted to not have a meeting on July 5th.
