Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Harold Stroot who passed away last week at the age of 88. Harold was a recent member of the Exchange Club and served as Exchange Club President at one time. Harold was an Army veteran of World War Two and participated in the Normandy Beach invasion. After the war he worked in the heating and air conditioning business and eventually opened his own business of Stroot Heating and Air Conditioning. He is survived by his wife Romaine, 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Flowers were presented by the Club to the family. Thanks to Steve Wellman for handling that. Special thanks to the members of the Club who took the time to attend the visitation and funeral.
Just a reminder, the Exchange Club could use some members or family members for the upcoming YMCA Mississippi Mud Mania event scheduled for June 8th. Rick Gengenbacher and Perry Terwelp will be co-chairing the event.
Don't forget it is not too soon to be getting court sponsors for Gus Macker. Vic Welper handed out forms a few weeks ago. Please don't wait 'til the last minute. Vic could use your help with these.
Speaking of Macker, the next Gus Macker meeting will be held at 5:30 this Wednesday (April 3rd) at The Dock in Quincy. Everyone is welcomed to attend.
The card draw returns this Friday with the pot over $623. Can Curt Moore draw a card for the third consecutive time? Show up and find out. Curt, rest assured there will be no members pulling for you.
And lastly, the Exchange Club made a deal with the Kiwanis Club of Quincy this week. In the deal, gave up their Peanut Days event to the Exchange Club. In order to accept that event, the Exchange Club traded Dick Wentura, Elvin Townsend and a member to be named later to the Kiwanis Club. The deal is contingent on everyone passing their physical.
