The meeting began with the eloquent Reverend Ron Fritts who managed not to steer off course too much with the prayer.
Dave Grimm, standing erect as his mother used to tell him, led us with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Jeff Dorsey had the honors of tail twisting the flock and did so expediently (that means quickly for the uninformed) and without any joke much to the disappointment of at least Mike Lavery.
Chuck Venvertloh conducted the 50-50 drawing with Rich Howell holding the winning ticket. Rich, with the opportunity to win $450, drew a 2 of Hearts. So the pot expands next week.
President Perry Terwelp began the meeting mentioning a change in schedule for upcoming speakers (see below). Perry also mentioned good luck to Jack Cornell and his Baltimore Ravens teammates who play in the Super Bowl this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
President Terwelp also acknowledged that the Club received a thank you note from Unity Church for our involvement with the Abundance Exchange Event. A special thanks was accorded to Dan Selby for his tireless effort during the event. Not that Dan is undeserving, but if he gets one more thank you he will surpass the Tony Nutt mentions for being Macker Chairman.
Eric Thomas announced that the Club's web pages are almost finalized for Gus Macker and Smoke on the River. A big thank you goes out to Eric for stepping up and handling these pages which are critical to the success of these two events.
Dennis Koch, returning from a national meeting as a Foundation Trustee, attended the National Mid-Year Conference where grants from the National Foundation's Gala Banaquet were given out to various Exchange Clubs and Child Abuse Prevention Centers around the country. The Quincy Exchange Club received one of those grants for the Give a Kid a Chance Christmas Dinner Program. The Chairman for that event, Charlie Ledbetter, received a check for $500 from Dennis Koch on behalf of the Foundation. Thanks Dennis for representing us at the Gala.
