A Time to Give Thanks

It's that time of the year where we all give thanks. We give thanks for the people we love, our friends, our horses and so many other things. This month we are giving a lot of thanks to people and horses in our community. It is the end of the show season for us and we are reflecting on all that has happened this year. Needless to say we couldn't have done it without everyone's help.

We have had many volunteers, horses, lots of items provided and hundreds of hours donated to us. We couldn't be more grateful for all the volunteers, horses, and extra people that have provided us with so much! The youth and the Association appreciate everything that was given this year. We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and safe travels. Thank you again for all that you have done this year for AHYA!

We Have a Winner!
Thank you to everyone who supported the 2015 AHYA Dever Inc. Golf Car Raffle. The winning ticket was drawn during the evening session at U.S. Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Oct. 31. Congratulations to Don Moss, winner of the AHYA Dever Inc. Golf Car Raffle. Don Moss has decided to "pay it forward" by donating the cart to the horses, staff, and students of Cal Poly Pomona at the W.K. Kellog Arabian Horse Center.
Special thanks go our to Dever Inc. who sponsored our 2015 AHYA Golf Car Raffle. If you would like to offer your thanks, please send thank you notes to:

Dever Inc.

Lexington, KY 40505

The proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Arabian Horse Youth Association's numerous annual programs, including the AHYA Convention, Regional Youth Team Tournament, National Arabian Horse Judging Contest and more.
T.A.I.L. Tours and Arabian Horse Museum at USN

NEW! At U.S. Nationals AHA set up an Arabian Horse museum and T.A.I.L. stations. This enabled groups to learn about different aspects of the Arabian horse through hands-on stations that were set up in the Exchange Building, as well as some history about where the Arabian horse came from and how it has been so instrumental through history. There was a station for identifying parts of the horse, what horses wear (saddles, bridles, grooming tools, protective boots), what horses eat (different types of grain and forages) and a farrier station. We ended the tour with a stop at the "Champions of Today" stalls where tour attendees met champion horses from the show. Overall, the museum and T.A.I.L. stations were a huge success and make sure to keep your eyes out for them at other National shows in 2016.

45th Annual Youth Judging Contest

Thank you to all Judging Contest supporters. U.S. Nationals hosted over 110 contestants across 3 divisions for the 2015 National Arabian Horse Judging Contest. It was a tremendous success; which would not have been possible without the support of the many sponsors, vendors, owners, handlers, trainers, and riders who donated their products, time, and horses.

We also want to congratulate all our contestants and winners! All of our contestants have such great potential to be future judges and we can't wait to see everyone back next year! The results from the Judging Contest have been posted online, for all interested.

Congrats Contestants!
