Promote Your Brand at Youth Nationals!

Our first (and, according to AHYA, most fun) national show is almost here! Youth Nationals promises to be truly spectacular this year, from the stellar competition to the awesome events. What better time to get your brand front and center with the entire Youth Nationals crowd - exhibitors, owners, trainers, and spectators alike? 1,000 Youth Nationals Qualifier T-shirts are distributed to exhibitors each year, and sponsors' names adorn the back. English Trail Added at U.S. Nationals

U.S. Nationals has added Arabian and Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian English Trail Horse Open classes to its 2013 schedule. Qualifications will be required for these classes and they will be the same qualifications as those of Western Trail. For Regionals, qualifications are one (1) point or one score of 68 or better. Qualifications for U.S. Nationals are three (3) points or two scores of 68 or better.

Showmanship for Adults at Canadian Nationals

Showmanship is not just for the young, it's for the young at heart!  Canadian Nationals has added Arabian/Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Showmanship AATH to its line up of classes. Qualifications for this class will be waived for the 2013 Canadian National Show.

Add New Cattle Classes to Your Prize List

For shows utilizing cattle, you can now add "Herd Work/Ranch Cutting" to your slate of classes. At the March Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved the addition of classes which may be held as Arabian/Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian, Open, and Non-Pro (Amateur).  These classes may be divided further by Bridle, Hackamore/Junior Horse, and Two Handed classes. All class procedures and rules for judging will be in accordance to the Herd Work section of the current rule book of the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA).

Calling All 14.2 & Under Working Hunters

Come vie to be the first ever National Champion in the Working Hunter 14.2 & Under A/HA/AA at Sport Horse Nationals! The Sport Horse National Show Commission has changed this class from an "Exhibition" to a recognized National Championship Class at this year's 2013 show, held in Lexington, Va. One (1) qualification point is required at the Regional level and two (2) points is required for Nationals.

Remember: It's Not All About the Points

Qualification points are an important part of qualifying, but did you know that they are not the only way to qualify? To qualify for Regionals you can use a first or second place win from an AHA Recognized local show. To qualify for Nationals you can use a Top Five placing. Remember that you qualify by section and must follow the Amateur and Amateur Owner rules in the USEF Rule Book (a horse that is jointly owned must be owned by members of the same family per the USEF family definition in order to show in AO/AAO/JO classes). Qualifications earned by a professional may not be used for Amateur/Amateur Owner classes.
