Region 10

Join Us for the Region 10 Youth Round Up
Come join Region 10 for the Youth Round Up on May 11-12, 2013 in Winona, Minn.. It is sure to be a fun time. Although primarily a youth show, the Round Up also offers Select Rider classes for adults as well as youth exhibitors. The Round-up is relatively small, inexpensive, and low-key, aimed at introducing youth, amateurs and academy riders to the licensed show experience and at providing opportunities for youth and select amateur riders to show and qualify in a wide range of classes similar to those offered at regional and youth nationals. The Roundup also offers non-showing activities such as a free pizza party and a Region 10 youth meeting Saturday night. Click here for complete information and the show premium.
Be Part of All the Fun at Region 10 Championships
Region 10 has seen steady growth in numbers for both the pre-show and the championship show and looks forward to an even larger show in 2013. It is all about the fun with dog races, wheel barrow races, the Think Pink Open Costume Lead Line class, and a great exhibitor party on Friday night. We need volunteers so look for information on the Region 10 Facebook page soon. The Regional show runs from June 13-16, 2013. Pre-Show is Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

NEW THIS YEAR
Trail classes
Regional championships in Working Cow Horse and Reined Cow Horse will be held on June 22 in Cannon Falls Minn. NOTE: Reining and Trail classes will be in St. Paul. Arabian Cutting classes are on June 20 with a preshow for the regional classes on June 21 along with many reining classes.
Youth Lounge
Youth Activities will be even better this year with a Youth Lounge and many planned activities including a scavenger hunt, ice cream social, face painting, coloring contest, and remote controlled monster truck races.
T.A.I.L. Program
For the first time, Region 10 will host a Region 10 "Total Arabian Interaction & Learning" (T.A.I.L.) program during the regional show! The program's goal is simple - make people feel comfortable and welcome and teach them about the wonderful Arabian horse! T.A.I.L. helps to put a friendly face on our organization, but also gives trainers and breeders a chance to meet prospective new owners. After the T.A.I.L. experience is over, kids and parents will want to know where they can find riding lessons! Visitors and spectators get a real sense of "buy-in" when they get to meet an exhibitor or horse prior to going in the ring.

Be A Part of the Region 10 Judging Contest
Now 2013 looks to be even better with the Region 10's 2013 Judging Contest for 4-H, FFA, and AHA Junior Judging Teams will be larger and better than 2012. The contest, hosted by the Sahara Sands Saddle Club, will be held on May 4, 2013 in conjunction with their spring show at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minnesota. The contest will have halter and performance classes with reasons given on one halter and one performance class. Awards and ribbons will be given to top ten individuals and top five teams in Halter, Performance, Reasons, and Overall. The Judging Contest has $500 in sponsorships from both AHA and AHYA. Help Us Break the 2012 Record for the Most RYTT Teams
Region 10 once again had the greatest number of teams for 2012 with twelve AHA recognized teams and five non-recognized teams. Teams are starting to form for 2013 so help us surpass our record numbers from last year. Email Joan Rose, Region 10 Youth Coordinator, and she will put you in touch with the team coach nearest you. The Region 10 Youth Team Tournament (RYTT) awards will be given out at the Regional Show.
Come to the Western Dressage Clinic with Cliff Swanson
Don't miss this clinic sponsored by the Wisconsin Arabian Horse Association featuring Cliff Swanson, one of the founding fathers of the Western Dressage Association of America. Twelve horse-rider pairs will work two hours both days, and lots of audit spots are available for spectators. This clinic truly will be something that almost any rider on any breed of horse can use for betterment of their relationship! Remember, AHA added Western Dressage to the approved class list. All late attendance fees will be waived this year. But, please make reservations in advance so that we can plan for food and attendance numbers. Northern Minn. AHA Show Hosts Free Western Dressage Clinic
The Western Dressage of America Association's Introductory and Basic Level tests clinic will be held at the Stearns County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena, Sauk Centre on May 17, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. This is not breed specific and will cover all the basics of Western Dressage for any breed. Anyone interested in the new exciting discipline is invited to this free event. Clinician Kate Phillips is a "R" USEF Dressage judge and member of the WDAA. Region 12
25th Annual Region 12 Youth Jamboree
Join Region 12 for the 25th Annual Youth Jamboree! The theme this year is "Aladdin - A Whole New World of Horses" and the registration deadline is May 24, 2013. This event welcomes all breeds and disciplines for youth ages 18 and under. Clinics will be held June 11-13, 2013 which will include trail, drill team, hunters, dressage, grooming, and much more. Open and rated shows will be held June 14-15, 2013. There will also be an essay contest whose topic is "Me & My Horse: Becoming a Team" with a deadline of June 1, 2013. Competitive Trail Rides for Everyone
Come to the competitive trail rides on April 28, 2013, sponsored by the SE District of the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association. An Open Breed Dressage Schooling Show will be held May 11, 2013 in Fair Hill, Md., sponsored by SE District of the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association. An introduction through 4th level and New Rider's tests will be offered. Awards for High Point Arabian, Half-Arabian and Overall All-Breed Champion will be given. Visit the Markel Reining Expo for Learning, Fun and Food
Join us for the Markel Reining Expo featuring Crystal McNutt and Jesse Chase on July 2, 2013 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Va.. Crystal and Jesse will be holding a Reining Horse Overview and there will be opportunities for six riders. Riders will also participate in Rookie Class which will be held at the end of the day. Catered meal will also be offered for $75 for riders and $25 for auditors, which are provided by Susan Butterworth. All proceeds will go to benefit the Arabian Horsemen's Distress Fund.

Region 18
Join the Excitement and Share the Rewards
Arabian Royal Red Amateur Bonanza (ARRAB) program is an annual highlight for the amateurs in Region 18. Offering a variety of classes for Arabians and Half-Arabians from Native Costume to pleasure to dressage, amateurs pay a $50, nomination fee, plus class entry fees. Each Top Five placing has the opportunity to win a payback of over $300. Every Champion receives additional merchandise such as embroidered coolers or tack. Classes are held at the Region 18 Championship Show, July 19-20, 2013.
Last Chance to Compete in the Regional Show Circuit
From far and wide exhibitors come to the Last Chance, Canadian Eastern Breeders and Region 18 Championships as they conclude the regional show circuit in the east. Terri Delbridge judges July 18, 2013, and Van Jacobsen adjudicates July 19-20th. These shows are held at the Western Fair District Agriplex in London, Ontario which is just a short drive from the US border.

Region 18 Sport Horse and Dressage Championships will be held June 23rd at Milestone Stables in Campbellville, Ontario, with Leslie Kennedy adjudicating.
