DID YOU KNOW. . .
#1 . . . We want to know about your printing service?

At the AALL Annual Meeting in Philly, NELLCO was introduced to wepa (wireless everywhere, print anywhere). Wepa is a cloud-based printing service that has already been installed in many colleges and universities, including the University of Georgia. UGA Law is a NELLCO member, and wepa has been in service across their campus since 2012. According to Carol Watson, Law Library Director at UGA, wepa's service is excellent and there is very little down time.

NELLCO is considering a consortium relationship with wepa. In order to determine whether wepa is a good candidate for us, we need your feedback on printing at your library. If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to complete a 1 question survey about the printing options you offer.

#2 . . . Beth Ziesenis, Our Nerdy Best Friend, has a new book out?

AT NELLCO's first Symposium in 2012, Beth Ziesenis presented a program about apps and tech tools that can help us in our daily work. Beth stayed for a one-on-one "Stump the Nerd" challenge and book signing for her then new book, Upgrade To Free.

Beth is at it again with her latest book, Nerd Know-How: The 27+ Best Apps for Work & How to Use 'Em! The new book is organized into 8 chapters that are loosely task-based as follows:

Ch. 1 - Organize
Ch. 2 - Collaborate
Ch. 3 - Share
Ch. 4 - Design
Ch. 5 - Create
Ch. 6 - Travel
Ch. 7 - Outsource
Ch. 8 - Google

Since we're among Beth's best friends, we get the best deals. Order the book from her Amazon author create page and use the discount code QDBPYY5D at checkout to get $9.00 off the list price. What? That's almost 50% off! Thanks, Beth!

#3 . . . NELLCO is partnering with Ravel for FREE access through 2015?

Ravel visualizes legal research to help attorneys quickly understand the legal landscape and identify critical cases as well as needles in the haystack. Ravel's Judge Analytics uses powerful new data science to identify patterns and outliers in how individual judges make decisions, providing insight into what, and who, they find most persuasive. Judicial clerks and externs use Ravel to think like their judge, and litigators rely on Ravel to tailor their arguments and outcompete the opposition.

As many of you heard at AALL Annual, another past NELLCO Symposium participant, Ravel has agreed to provide NELLCO members with FREE access through the end of this calendar year! Your IP information (whatever you have in the NELLCO profile for your library) has already been provided to Ravel and they are working on establishing your access by the end of Aug. Once that is set up we'll send out an e-mail with the access information.

Beginning in Jan. 2016, NELLCO members can subscribe to the Ravel content at a 40% discount!
