The Department of Economic Opportunity and CareerSource Gulf Coast will host two Town Hall meetings on May 16th and 17th at 9 a.m. at the CareerSource Gulf Coast Job Center (625 Hwy 231). This event is just for employers and topics such as unemployment benefits including the CONNECT system and short term compensation will be discussed. For more information, call 850.872.4340.

We had the pleasure of helping celebrate Panama City Beach's 80th birthday yesterday. Thank you to city leaders, past and present, the Bay County Tourist Development Council, and the many others that have made Panama City Beach a world-class tourism destination.
 
Congratulations to PCB Entertainment on their successful Pepsi SpringJam event! Over 15,000 people attended the event at Aaron Bessant Park. Thank you for putting heads in beds in beautiful Bay County!

Junior Leadership Bay Class of 2015-2016 Graduates


The Bay County Chamber is pleased to announce the 16th graduating class of Junior Leadership Bay. Former Panama City Beach Mayor, Gayle Oberst, was the keynote speaker.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Amanda Lovett from Palm Bay Preparatory Academy was presented with a scholarship to attend Gulf Coast State College and Florida State University - Panama City Campus. Junior Leadership Bay is an eight month program for high school juniors designed to prepare, develop and enhance high school juniors for future roles in community leadership at an early point in life.

About MAC
The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1946, and is rich in the history of providing good public relations between our military bases and the business community. 
 
The mission of MAC is to develop understanding, support and goodwill between our men and women in uniform and the local business and civic leaders. The committee stages various events and receptions to welcome visiting military officials and guests to the Bay County area.

Need Social Capital? Bay Business Connection (BBC) provides an opportunity for groups of business professionals to come together to network, share business leads and referrals with other group members.
BBC is available to any member in good standing with the Bay County Chamber of Commerce at no extra charge. They must attend the scheduled bi-monthly meetings and one referral or lead is requested at each meeting. Members are encouraged to bring one guest (guest may be non-member). A member may only join one BBC group. BBC also makes sure no single business will be in direct competition with another member of the group. (For example, only one person in banking can be in each group.) Interested in joining?
