Bay County Chamber of CommerceApril 19, 2016

The Board of Directors and Governmental Affairs Committee hosted a round table discussion with Senator Don Gaetz on April 5th. Gaetz updated the group on the last legislative session. Chairman Robert Carroll thanked Gaetz for his service and all that he has accomplished for Northwest Florida.

Congratulations to our local delegation for earning A's on the FL Chamber's report card.  This makes our area more competitive through policy priorities that will grow private-sector jobs, improve and diversify our economy. Representatives Jay Trumbull and Brad Drake earned 100% and Senator Don Gaetz earned 98%.

On April 7th, the Chamber hosted the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows as they visited Bay County. Carol Roberts, President and CEO of the Chamber, welcomed the group and briefed them on not only the role of a Chamber but also their individual civic responsibility. Former Congressman Steve Southerland, former State Representative Jimmy Patronis and State Attorney Glen Hess also spoke to the group. The program was created to actively educate and cultivate Florida's future leaders. Click here to view more about the program.

Warrior Beach Retreat will hold their opening ceremony this Thursday, April 21st. We encourage you to hold flags on the Hathaway Bridge as the veterans make their way to the venue to show your support. Click here for event and parade route information.
