The attached letter (click here) was sent last week encouraging our legislators to support fishermen and their communities by passing the bill HR 1335 as-is, the "Strengthening Fishing Communities and Increasing Flexibility in Fisheries Management Act", as it was reported by the House Natural Resources Committee on April 30, 2015.

We are pleased to report that one of the two projects supported by the Bay County Chamber for Bay County Restore Act funds has moved forward for consideration by the Bay County Commission. That being the funding to study the opening of the East Pass. We'll keep you posted, however, be sure to show your own support by contacting the commission to let them know that this is a much needed project for environmental and recreational purposes. Click here for the original letter of support by the Chamber.

The State of Florida is experiencing a significant economic recovery, but how has that affected small businesses in the Sunshine State? As we work to secure Florida's future, it is important that we know what issues are most important to small business leaders. Please take a few minutes to answer some questions and share your opinion with us in our Small Business Index Survey. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone.

Do you have concerns about transportation in Northwest Florida? Want more bike lanes, additional sidewalks, wider traffic lanes and increased signalization? The Bay County TPO will hold two Project Priorities Workshops to gain public input: Today, at 5:30 p.m. at Panama City Beach City Hall, 110 S. Arnold Rd. in Panama City Beach and May 20, 1 p.m. at Bay County Library Conference Room, 898 W. 11th St. in Panama City.

Congratulations to our 8th Annual Jungleball Volleyball winners! Royal American Beach Getaways took home 1st place, 2nd place was awarded to the City of Panama City Beach; and Exelis won 3rd place.
