Every journey begins with a single step. The hardest step is often the decision to venture into the unknown world of becoming an entrepreneur.

When Dr. Doug Fort left his teaching and research position at Oklahoma State University in 2001 to start his own business, there wasn't a clear-cut guarantee that everything would work out. Doug and his wife Deanne decided to chart their own course and established Fort Environmental Laboratories. Fast-forward 10 years and their company now serves clients such as DuPont, Eli Lilly and Company, S.C. Johnson and the Bermuda Zoological Society.
