Last Chance to Pre-Register for the 5K
 
The 5K is coming, and pre-registration closes this Friday, June 6. So if you haven't registered yet, please do so right now. You will be able to register on-site for a higher fee ($40 on site vs $30 to pre-register), but why wait?

 
Compete, or just have fun. Form a team, raise money, and enjoy a beautiful day with your fellow lupus travelers - patients, families, and the community! Prizes will be awarded for top runners, top fundraisers and largest and top fundraising teams.

Study Finds No Link Between Vaccine and Lupus
Alleviating concerns, a new study has found that there is no link between vaccination and developing SLE.
 
A total of 21% of individuals who developed lupus had received any vaccine within the previous 2 years, as did 25.4% of controls...

Similarly, 16.2% of cases and 20.8% of controls had been vaccinated within the previous 12 months...

"Controls" are individuals participating in the study who do not have lupus.

This study comports with many others and the general opinion among physicians who treat lupus patients that vaccination generally safe and does not cause lupus.
