When Lucido was appointed State Dir of Oklahoma, he stated,

Join us November 1st at the Lone Star Steakhouse
for the UFAA Chapter 15 Monthly Meeting
Chapter 15 will hold the next monthly meeting on Thursday, November 1st 11:30 AM at the Lone Star Steakhouse 101 E. Albany St. Broken Arrow- located just past the driving entrance to Bass Pro. Exit B/A Exp. @ 161st E A aka (Elm PL) 101 E Albany St, Broken Arrow, OK Menu (scroll to bottom for lunch) Message From the PresidentI was so impressed by the huge member & non-member turnout for John Lucido's memorial service. I believe all but one or two association member/supporters were there. I've never attended a funeral/memorial service with so many Farmers family professionals attending & showing such respect for a great man taken from his two families.
Yes, his Farmers family dominated the service, but when his personal family shared, the tears could've raised Noah's Ark. Such a loss of such a young man that was such an example of husband, father, & company man who was open & honest to any agent. He will be missed & hard to replace.
The highest honor you can do in John's memory is to take control of your health. What good are you if you are
not in top shape, feeling great. The healthy/fit cream rises to the top. Think about it, stop being in denial & co-insure your healthy future. A little effort will go a long way physically & mentally. Just do it.
NOV 1st AGENDA Important & Urgent1. Officer nominations. 2. Xmas party planning info. Prepare to party. 3. Ears only info relating to the new agent contract coming. Can't discuss any of this except at the meeting with members. Visiting non-members will have to leave the room for this discussion.
4. Discuss 10 to 300% rate increases. Yes, I said 300%. Watch your commercial renewals.
5. To top this, we have arranged a special LUNCH SPONSOR. Free lunch & advance your knowledge & career! Not to mention building better relations with Fig & Non-Fig agents. Glenn Johnson Chapter 15 President.
Please arrive for Lunch @11:30 - UFAA Meeting begins at Noon.
Meeting attendees should prepare to order lunch upon timely arrival at 11:30 AM The staff will be prepared to take your order upon your seating and cooked to order. We will no longer order as a group as in the past as this has caused our meeting to run overtime.

The impact disabilities have on individuals can vary greatly from being a short term adjustment, to a life long lifestyle change. Have you thought about the effect that a serious illness or debilitating accident would have on your every day life and retirement planning?
Individual Disability Income Insurance from Principal Insurance can help protect your ability to receive income if you have a qualifying disability so that you don't have to rely on your hard-earned savings to cover daily living expenses. This policy is non-cancellable and has guaranteed premium rates for the duration of the policy. It also protects you if you are unable to work in your occupation - unlike similar policies that only pay benefits if you are unable to work in any occupation. Additional features also include future increase opportunities without medical underwriting, residual disability benefits if you are not totally disabled, and cost of living adjustments to keep up with inflation. Finally, these benefits are tax-free upon distribution when you pay your premiums with after-tax dollars.
A Business Overhead Expense Policy from Principal Insurance is also non-cancellable and has guaranteed premium rates for the duration of the policy. This policy reimburses you for covered business expenses such as rent, salaries, utilities, loan payments, etc. while you are sick or too injured to work. The competitive product design includes several built-in benefit components as well as optional riders to help you customize your policy to best fit your individual needs. Riders include a future increase opportunity, residual disability benefits, and business loan protection.
If you would like more information about the Disability Program, please email Holmes Murphy & Associates at voluntarybenefits@holmesmurphy.com. When emailing voluntarybenefits@holmesmurphy.com with an inquiry or request for a quote, please declare as to whether you are a UFAA Member, a UFAA Affiliate, a Farmers Agent or a District Manager. This will save a lot of time in the initial question answer response portion.
*The policies are individually underwritten and end at age 70.*

J D Powers 2012 U.S. National Homeowners Insurance Study of examining five factors: billing and payment; claims; interaction; policy offerings; and price.
Are you rated "D" under the Agency Growth Model? Farmers Still "D" Rated by J D Powers and Consumer Reports Magazine
as reported in the Sept issue J D Powers, now in its 12th year, the study measures customer satisfaction with homeowners insurance companies. Overall satisfaction with homeowners insurance companies averages 785 in 2012 (on a 1,000-point scale), the highest level in the history of the study, and improves by 16 points from 2011. Additionally, satisfaction improves by 19 points among customers who bundle their auto and homeowners policies with the same insurer, compared with an improvement of 10 points among customers who have their auto policy with another insurer. Satisfaction is higher in all five factors year over year, with the greatest gains in the policy offerings and billing and payment factors (+35 points and +27 points, respectively). The gains in policy offerings are more pronounced among customers who bundle their auto and homeowners policies than among those who have their auto policy with another insurer (+39 points vs. +25 points, respectively). The competitiveness of discounts and the variety of coverage options are key differentiators among those customers who bundle their insurance. "The increase in satisfaction with policy offerings is directly related to customer perceptions that insurers are doing a better job in offering the right coverage options at competitive prices when policies are bundled," said Jeremy Bowler, senior director of the insurance practice at J.D. Power and Associates. "Bundled policies not only may provide a reduced premium for customers, but may also be advantageous to both parties, as it allows customers to interact with a single insurer, potentially streamlining both billing and payment."
While auto is the most typically bundled policy with homeowners, the study finds a direct relationship between bundling any additional products and higher satisfaction. Satisfaction among customers who insure only their home with their homeowners insurer is 712. However, when one additional product is bundled (typically an auto policy), satisfaction increases to 792. When four or more products are bundled with the insurer, satisfaction further increases to 861.
Not only does bundling increase satisfaction with homeowners insurance companies, but it also increases customers' intent to renew their policy. Among customers who have homeowners insurance only, just 28 percent say they "definitely will" renew with their insurer. Among customers who bundle two policies, 46 percent say they "definitely will" renew with their insurer, and increases to 66 percent when four or more policies are bundled.
"Insurance companies have a tremendous opportunity to create loyal customers by delivering a satisfying bundling experience and deepening their penetration into the household," said Bowler. "Once established, customers are inclined to keep their policies bundled. Additionally, they are more likely to add more products to their policy in the future."
Amica Mutual ranks highest in satisfaction (859) for an 11th consecutive year among homeowners award-eligible insurance companies and performs particularly well in all five factors that contribute to overall customer satisfaction. Following Amica Mutual in the rankings are ACSC (AAA) (824) and Erie Insurance (822), respectively. USAA, an insurance provider open only to U.S. military personnel and their families and therefore not included in the rankings, also achieves a high level of customer satisfaction. FYI:
Farmers JD Power ranking points was 755 in the year of 2011 and ranked #16 of 22 P&C companies. In 2012, Farmers improved by 5 points to 760 points and ranked #22 of 23 P&C companies while the industry average improved by 16 points.
Here is another 2012 Top Ten Company rankings by Insure.com.

Former Farmers Insurance District Manager, sues company for $13.8 million
A former Sacramento area district manager for the Farmers Insurance Group who made $2.6 million over four years is suing the company for more than five times that amount on grounds that he got jobbed on an unfair business practices violation.
Michael J. Pexa of Granite Bay claims Farmers misclassified him as an independent contractor in a suit that's heading toward a showdown in Sacramento Superior Court. He says the insurance giant still owes him $13.8 million for overtime, business expenses, a pension program, health insurance and the value of his contract.
By characterizing the managers as independent contractors, Pexa says Farmers avoids tax obligations and reimbursements required by the state Labor Code.

Best tech on wheels
Automobiles have come a long way in just the past few years. Engineers have made great advances in protecting passengers in a crash. They're now hard at work on systems that warn drivers when they drift out of their lanes, and when pedestrians or other vehicles are in their blind spots. Until recently, however, car interiors were pretty primitive compared to the technology we've grown accustomed to in our living rooms and offices. The Dentist-
A man went into his dentist to see why his dentures kept decaying rapidly on him. The dentist looked at his dentures and remarked, "This is very odd. They look like something's been eating them. Is there anything different that you've been eating lately?" The man thought for a bit and said, "Well, my wife has been making a lot of eggs Benedict recently with hollandaise sauce." "Ah!" exclaimed the dentist, "That's it. I know just what you need. I'm going to order you some new dentures with plates made out of chrome." "Chrome?" exclaimed the man incredulously, "Why Chrome?" "Because, there's no plates like chrome for the hollandaise."

Speaking of 21st C..Interesting Webinar
Tuesday, October 9, 2012 10:46 AM
Subject: Life Web Conference Call
I participated in a 45 minute webinar this morning on the new Life product out 10/13/2012 and one of the things I noticed at the top of the illustrations, was the following: A NEW PRODUCT FOR 21ST CENTURY. So keep your eyes open and let me know whether I really saw it or it was a mirage. So now, I guess they will be offering the life insurance directly to 21st Century clients. At least that's my assumption based upon what I saw. Okie Agent

Group Medical Premium Rebate From Farmers Poll From the Sept 2012 Oklahoma VoiceIf you had Aetna Medical coverage with Farmers in 2011, has Farmers Benefits notified you with a rebate check or applied it to future medical premiums?
I got a rebate check! 0% Farmers applied rebate to future 2012 premiums 0%
They stated they would apply to 2013 premiums 45% (if you are still in the plan)
I qualify but have heard nothing from Farmers 55% If you are no longer in the plan they owe you $$
The rebate was .04% of 2011 Aetna medical premiums. If you are still in the plan, they say you will receive a .03% rebate in 2013. If your not in the plan in 2013, how do you plan to collect?
The difference between the .04% & .03% rebate is the subsidized rate they paid for agent coverage @.03% Vs. no subsidy for employees or dependents @ .03% rebate. You need to know this and request reimbursement from Farmersagentsbenefits.com website, if you qualify.
