VAPDC UPDATE
VAPDC Winter Conference, February 11-12, 2016
The VAPDC Winter Conference is multi-faceted in its learning and its location for 2016! On Thursday, February 11th  VAPDC will join VACo for the annual County Government Day at the Omni Richmond Hotel. Later that evening the VAPDC Winter Conference will kick off with a reception at the hotel.  


The VAPDC Winter Conference will continue on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. VAPDC is proud to partner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond to offer a series of speakers discussing A Regional Approach to Virginia's New Economy. Friday morning will begin with the annual Awards Breakfast, followed by several conference sessions.

Grants writing workshop in Portsmouth, VA
Portsmouth Police Department and Grant Writing USA will present a two-day grants workshop in Portsmouth, February 11-12, 2016. This training is applicable to grant seekers across all disciplines.  Attend this class and you'll learn how to find grants and write winning grant proposals. Click here for full event details.

Beginning and experienced grant writers from city, county, and state agencies as well as nonprofits, K-12, colleges and universities are encouraged to attend. Tuition is $405 (regularly $455) and includes everything: two days of terrific instruction, workbook, and access to our Alumni Forum that's packed full of tools, helpful discussions and more than 200 sample grant proposals.  Seating is limited, online reservations are necessary.  Seating is limited, online reservations are necessary.

USDA webinar: new online application system - RD Apply
USDA adds a series of webinars to introduce its new online application system RD Apply http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/rd-apply. Click here for more information.
 
Based on extensive demand, the USDA Telecommunications Program will host a series of six additional webinars focused on our new application intake system: RD Apply. This new system allows interested parties to apply electronically for loans and grants administered by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS).
 
Apply with ease for the latest RUS Farm Bill Broadband Loan Program and Infrastructure Program loans through RD Apply. Eventually, more programs will be added into the system, allowing a wider range of customers to submit applications electronically.

Virginia Department of Planning and Budget provides PDCs with presentation on Agency Grant Writer Training
The Virginia Department of Planning and Budget has created a grant portal to provide a one-stop site for state agencies and the residents of the Commonwealth to pursue federal, state, local, and private grants, thereby providing greater access and transparency to available grants.

The grant portal is a public site and provides one place to search for state, local, federal, and private grants. The portal also provides resources for individuals, organizations and agencies to use when applying for state, local, federal, and private grants.
