Joe Bigler, a junior at Clear Lake High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 848, chose to develop a 10 year plan for the grounds around St. Thomas, Nassau Bay, as his Eagle Scout project. Read more here.

Diocese of Texas Garners Awards at Communicators Conference
The Diocese of Texas fared well at the national Episcopal Communicators' Conference in Portland, Oregon, April 18-21, garnering more than a dozen awards, including the most prestigious Award of Excellence in the General Excellence category for Diolog magazine, the diocesan quarterly periodical. Northern Iraq's Humanitarian Crisis
Qolu sits on a long padded mat inside a tent on Mount Sinjar, northern Iraq. A tuft of white hair pokes out from beneath his headscarf and his grey moustache covers almost his entire mouth. Twenty-five members of his family, from toddlers to the elderly, have called a few tents on the mountain home since ISIS attacked the city of Sinjar in August 2014. Read more here and watch a video on the crisis here

Follow Ken Meyer as he walks for PTSD awareness. Ken is a member of Holy Comforter, Spring, and will walk for 628 miles, concluding in Galveston on May 28. Starry Nights and Campfire Lights in Austin This Thursday

Join Bishops United and #WearOrange on June 2

"Bishops United Against Gun Violence" has partnered with "Wear Orange" to help promote National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2. Wear Orange started in the South Side of Chicago as classmates honored the memory of their friend Hadiya Pendelton, who was shot and killed on January 21, 2013,by wearing orange, a color often worn by hunters to protect themselves. You can join with Bishops United and #WearOrange by sharing pictures of yourself wearing orange on June 2 on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags #WearOrange and #Episcopal. The Creativity of Wonder

Stefanie Leacock, a member of Good Shepherd, Austin and a Ph.D. in Genetics, talks about the intersection of faith and science in a new video by Sinai and Synapses, a program that seeks to share ideas about science and religion. "My Monday through Friday job is teaching undergraduate biology here in Texas, but on Sunday mornings, you'll find me in a 4- and 5-year-old Sunday school class telling stories about the Bible," Leacock said. The Episcopal Diocese of Texas seeks a Missioner for Missional Communities to multiply and strengthen missional communities in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. The Missioner will serve on the Mission Amplification team under the direction of the Canon for Mission Amplification. This team is charged with the planting of 25 new congregations, 50 new missional communities, 20 new campus missions, and the support and coaching of 153 existing congregations. The Missioner's role will include creating, implementing, and evaluating strategies, recruiting and coaching leaders, and influencing the investment of resources in this work. Applications should be sent to the Rev.
