We will highlight The Episcopal Health Foundation during a pre-game ceremony, and the Rev. Choir Camp Adds Dimension to Summer Fun for Kids

The 23rd Annual Music Camp will be held in Brenham, July 5-11. Campers in rising grades 3 and up will sing, play instrumental music, swim, do outreach projects and room at Blinn College in Brenham. Palmer Memorial Offers Thurifer Training for Acolytes

Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, near the Texas Medical Center in Houston, has offered to train acolytes in the art of "censing the altar." There is an art to time-releasing the smoke, said Catherine Frazier, evangelism team coordinator at Palmer. It is also tricky to swing the smoking thurifer on its long chains without hitting oneself or the floor, then handing off to the celebrant. Creating Missional Communities, May 13

Interested in creating a missional community but don't know where to start? Join others in the Diocese at the Mosaic Campus (12 miles south of The Texas Medical Center off of 288) of St. Andrew's, Pearland, on May 13,  11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk about missional communities in an informal setting. For lay and ordained leaders interested in exploring and developing missional communities. Future gatherings will be the second Wednesday of the month. Brotherhood of St. Andrew Golf Tournament on May 14

The Annual Brotherhood of St Andrew Golf Tournament will be held at Cypresswood Golf Course  on Thursday, May 14, starting at 9 a.m. Proceeds help sponsor a retreat for at-risk youth and other ministries. Last year proceeds benefited Camp Good News, Lord of the Streets, St Vincent's House and Inside the Walls Prison ministry. Find out more here    
 
Camp Allen Hosts National Stewardship Conference in May

The Episcopal Network for Stewardship will hold its national conference at Camp Allen May 29 and 30, 2015.  Creating a Culture of Generosity features the Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of Washington National Cathedral and former dean of Seabury Theological Seminary. Bishop Andy Doyle will preach at Friday evening's Eucharist and a pre-conference session on May 28 is also available. Full information is available here.

Brigid's Place Hosts Mary Magdalene Festival 

A month-long festival to reshape the legacy of Mary Magdalene, sponsored by Brigid's Place of Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, features well known lecturer Dr. Kayleen Asbo July 23-25, 205. Additionally, an art exhibit will feature works of 24 artists that reimagine Mary Magdalene as the beloved disciple of Jesus. Deadline for submissions is June 1. 2015 Jubilee Ministry Grant Applications Now Open

Grants for program development and program impact are now being accepted. One program grant, up to $35,000, will be awarded to a new or existing ministry to make an impact locally and beyond itself. Ten to 20 program impact grants, ranging from $750-$1,500, will be awarded to initiatives of Jubilee Centers that make a positive and measurable impact in the lives of those in need. Deadline is May 29, applications are here. Jubilee Centers with a wide variety of missions and programs dealing with poverty alleviation are encouraged to apply.
