MEET IRVIN
Driven. Mexican. (Food.)

I am in love with running long distances and the feeling of adrenaline during the last few seconds of a long run. Ever since I started running, I have been in silent competition with myself to run longer and faster day after day. I see the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a great way to see how far I can push myself. (I'm also running to balance out my food intake during the summer, because if there is anything I love more than running, it's food.)

My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was 10 years old, and with that decision came many of the challenges that Latinos Progresando works to address. I chose Latinos Progresando because they provide services and resources to families like mine, and because of their approach to empowering the immigrant community. The resources they provide go beyond legal services; they place an emphasis on the arts and culture, as well as advocacy and community organizing. The immigrant experience is complex and requires resources on many front; I decided to #Run4Latinos because their efforts understand and act upon that fact.
MEET FRANCISCO
Motivated. Dedicated. Fearless.

Why am I running? After knee surgery and other injuries, I want to see if I can do this.

I am running for Latinos Progresando to get the word out and gain additional support for the organization.

Family. Community. Progress.
