Teatro en Oaxaca
Latinos Progresando's youth theatre program, Teatro Americano, sent a group of its performers to Oaxaca to participate in a cultural and artistic exchange with performers from Grupo Cultural Zaapeche and create an original piece about immigration, identity, and culture across borders.
Latinos Progresando also brought two Chicago muralists to create a work for Casa de Cultura Juan Matias's theatre space and is planning on hosting artists from Oaxaca in the fall.
Thank you so much to Dan Fulwiler, Lizette Hernández, Paula King, and Jennifer Nuñez for supporting Teatro Americano's trip through our Indiegogo campaign!

Important reminder about DACA

Under the guidelines established by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), DACA recipients must renew every two years in order to maintain their deferred action status and work authorization.
According to USCIS, the first DACA approvals will begin to expire in September 2014. It is recommended that applicants submit their renewals 120 days before their current deferred action expires.
If you or someone you know were granted deferred action two years ago, or need to file for the first time, visit Latinos Progresando at 3047 W. Cermak or call (773) 542-7077 for more information.
