Higher Education and Workforce Development: Possibilities After High School
Attention students! Join the Latinos Progresando Associates Board for a panel discussion highlighting options after high school. These paths range from attending private colleges to becoming part of the workforce. We are excited to have a number of different speakers share their experiences and lessons learned.

"The State of Arizona" with LP's Luis Gutierrez
Join us on Saturday, November 16th at 2pm at the Chicago Cultural Center, where Chicago Community Cinema will screen the film, The State of Arizona, about the border state's controversial immigration law SB1070, which is reshaping the national conversation around immigration reform. After the film, LP's Luis Gutierrez will participate in a panel discussion about local organizing efforts around immigration reform, taking a closer look at how Chicagoans are affected by current policies.

Congratulations to St. Augustine College!
On October 27th, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) honored St. Augustine College (a partner in the Marshall Square Resource Network) with the Outstanding Hispanic Serving Institution HACU-Member Award.
 
"This prestigious award recognizes the excellence in educational services provided by St. Augustine College to its students and the community it serves, and represents the mission of HACU," stated Dr. Antonio Flores, HACU President and CEO
 
"It is an honor to receive this national recognition. It represents the work of many people who believe in making education accessible to the Latin community," added Andrew C. Sund, President of St. Augustine College.
