Greetings!
This year, Latinos Progresando is celebrating its 15th anniversary through the organization's annual Tomorrow's Heroes Today event, and introducing, for the first time, MEX Talks--a one-day speaker series highlighting the state of Mexicans in the city of Chicago and in the United States. Although still referenced as the most recent immigrants, the truth is, Mexicans have been in Chicago for more than 100 years. There is a rich cultural history, and more than a century's worth of contributions from Mexicans that have made our great city what it is today. MEX Talks will feature prominent Mexican and Mexican-American speakers on a variety of topics: education, politics, arts and culture, business and economics, immigration and civil rights, through a uniquely Mexican lens. |
