Celebrating 15 Years of Strengthening Families
|
Can you believe it? Fifteen years ago today, from a small office in Pilsen, one ambitious 25-year-old set out to build an organization to serve families in need. With the help of a tenacious group of volunteers, community members, a hardworking staff, and dedicated leadership, Latinos Progresando has grown to become the organization it is today.
Together over the last 15 years, we've helped thousands of families stay together and have seen hundreds of youth transform into amazing performance artists, go on to college, and return to their community as leaders.
- Over 15 years, LP's immigration legal services program has grown to be the largest Latino-led program in the City of Chicago accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals.
- LP's arts and education program, Teatro Americano just received its second MacArthur International Connections Fund grant to create cross-cultural work with a youth arts group in Oaxaca, Mexico.
- The Marshall Square Resource Network is building the capacity of its 15 member organizations to more effectively serve our community.
- LP's Dr. Angela Perez Miller Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $20,000 to help some of our community's most promising young students afford college.
Thank you for every contribution you've made to LP--your time, your guidance, your investments have helped to make Latinos Progresando what it is today. We look forward to another exciting 15 years to come!
Sincerely,
The Latinos Progresando family
