Learn how to care for orchids Sept. 27

Better Together's series aimed at exposing residents to Milton's businesses

MILTON, Ga., Sept. 15, 2014 - Did you know one of the largest growers of orchids in the Southeast is located in our own backyard?

If you are interested in this beautiful foliage, make sure you're at Milton's Rainbeau Orchids on Saturday, Sept. 27, when Better Together, the city's citizen volunteer committee, holds the third in its series of business connection events.

This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rainbeau Orchids, located at the corner of Freemanville and Redd roads (click here for directions ). The entire community is invited, said Wayne Boston, community builder for the City of Milton.

"Our first two events were both very successful," he said. "We're looking forward to meeting residents interested in learning more about orchid care and local businesses in Milton."

Don and Sue Baker, owners of Rainbeau Orchids, will be leading the "everything you always wanted to know about orchids and their care" sessions at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.

"Hopefully, this event will be an opportunity to learn more about orchids and the joy they can bring to any home," said Don.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to look through the hundreds of orchids available for purchase. With each purchase, per person, an additional mini orchid will be provided free of charge.  Also, a raffle will be held each hour awarding a florist-dressed phalaenopsis, also known as a Moth Orchid, a $50 value, to the lucky winner.

Businesses in Milton are encouraged to contact Boston at 678-242-2512 or wayne.boston@cityofmiltonga.us if they would be willing to host an event in order to introduce their particular product or service to our residents. Better Together will then work with the business to plan an event that will be educational, productive and enjoyable to all.

Better Together is a volunteer organization of Milton residents looking for unique and fun ways to connect with neighbors.  If you would like more information on Better Together or any of its activities, please visit the group's Facebook page or contact Boston at 678-242-2512 or wayne.boston@cityofmiltonga.us.
