I do feel that the Cardinal Cross/Eclipse portal of April 2014 was indeed a turning point, a crux, a crossroads for humanity. I feel that Humanity made a choice on a fundamental level, that every sentient being on Earth made a choice at the level of Soul, and I think we chose a Higher Path. This is my intuitive sense. Perhaps you sense something similar?

The energies have been continuing to shake out all through May, and they will continue to do so throughout June and July. This integration period is very deep and profound, ie it is in proportion to the level of the Shift that preceded it. So the 'advice' I gave for May is similar to the advice for June and July - rest as you can, take it easy, be gentle with yourself, and enter into your connection with Spirit as you muse over all that has changed within you and your life.

Because of the velocity of the recent energies, the intensity of the integration period, and the potential for amazing changes, this is a good time to have an Astrology Coaching session to help you navigate these times. The Ascendant is a vibrating vortex, filled with life-force energy, at the leading edge of all that is possible in this incarnation. It is a very exciting place! And it is a key part of the incredibly unique and dazzling Self Expression that we, individually and intimately, are sharing in a given lifetime. Consider:

(1) Every 2 and a half days the Moon moves into a different house. During this period, approximately 1 million children will be born. They will all have the same Moon sign and their charts will be very similar.

(2) Every day the Sun changes movement by one degree. On any given day, approximately 400,000 people will be born. They will all have the same Sun sign and their charts will be very similar. (Note: the Sun sign is the sign that we all know about ourselves)

(3) Every 2 hours a different sign of the zodiac appears on the Eastern horizon. This is the Rising Sign or Ascendant. During this two hour period approximately 30,000 children will be born. They will share the same Ascendant sign, with very similar charts.

(4) And every 4 minutes, the degree of the zodiac sign on the Ascendant will change IN ANY GIVEN LOCATION. Since 250 babies are born every minute world-wide, 1,000 babies will be born in a 4-minute period. Unless one of those babies is born at the exact moment and in the exact same location as you (such as a twin) then there is no one else on the planet who has the exact same chart as you including the exact same degree on the Ascendant.

Down to the Moment, down to This Moment/That Moment, down to the Now, down to The First Breath. It is called the Rising Sign because at that moment your Soul rises into a new expression of Being and Enlightenment, Service and Joy.

If you know when you were born within a 2 hour window, we can say with good certainty what your Ascendant is. And if you know the exact time, we can pinpoint your individuality in this lifetime to a group of 1,000 people (or less) among 7 billion. (See below for some thoughts on not having your exact birth-time, it's really ok if you don't!)

Now, all four of the 'angles' of your chart (the top of the chart, the bottom etc - ie the 4 corners of the mandala) are as unique as the Ascendant BUT The Ascendant has a certain primacy because the East holds the energy of new beginnings. The Sun rises in the East, showing what is dawning in the life, the fresh new path of experience. This point pulsates with the energy of the Soul in its current incarnation. This is where you Rise. This is where you Ascend.

And now, for a more practical consideration of embodying your Ascendant. I.e. let's take it down from the Astronomical Macrocosm to the mundane, hit the snooze on your alarm-clock microcosm :)

How you start your day is how you live your day. How you live your day is how you live your life. As the Sun rises, you are presented with a delicious opportunity to tune into the Sunrise in your chart. As the Sun ascends so does your beautiful day filled with new possibilities for expression, service and joy. Why not approach your day through the faceted lens, the enerty vortice of your Ascendant.

Here are some simple ideas of what to do first thing in the morning, according to your Ascendant. This is a very easy way to 'occupy' the sign that Rises in your life. It doesn't have to be complicated! (If you don't know your Ascendant, go ahead and schedule an Astrology Coaching Session and we will pinpoint it)

Aries: Feet hit the floor! Off you go! Do cardio! Get moving!

Taurus: Wake up slowly. Be (BE) in nature. Enjoy a luscious breakfast.

Gemini: Read, think, write, chat, text, tweet, facebook, look at your tumblr feed, snap a pic for instagram. Or, just do, you know, whatever.

Cancer: Sleep in as long as you can. Have a soothing cup of tea and some oatmeal w honey. Cuddle with your baby, cat or dog.

Leo: Rise and shine! Sing! Dance! Do the Sun Salutation*

Virgo: light a candle at your altar, make and sip your coffee in a meditative state, and don't forget to make a list for your day

Libra: Put on your Chanel suit and Prada shoes. Decorate the table with fresh flowers and have breakfast with your partner, while making plans for lunch with your best friend.

Scorpio: If you can, don't start your day until 10 am or 12 noon (you were probably up till the wee hours). Don't talk to anyone until you've had your third cup of coffee. People will stay away from you anyway:)

Sagittarius: Attend a breakfast workshop, or a networking brunch. Or, the heck with today's list of things to do - hop in the car and off you go on a grand adventure!

Capricorn: Rise at 5am. Brush teeth 5:01-5:03. Set your timer and meditate for 20 minutes. One bran muffin & 6 oz coffee, black. To work 5:59am.

Aquarius: Skype a meeting with your tech staff. Grok your news in 10 minutes from the blogosphere. Decide which timeline you will activate today**

Pisces: meditate for a couple of hours, listen to music, daydream, go for a swim, do Reiki, pray, chant, travel out of body, meditate, listen to music, daydream, pray, chant (ibid)

Keep in mind that we all have each of the 12 signs of the zodiac in our charts. So one or more of these ideas for morning focus might resonate with you. Choose the one(s) that make you feel alive, which is the whole point of the Ascendant!

In addition, the Sun Salutation yoga series, an ancient series of asanas or yoga postures, is a good way to start the day no matter your Ascendant sign. In fact, you may want to use your awareness of your Sun sign into this series if you are going to do it in the morning - ie especially if you don't know your Ascendant. The Sun is the SOURCE of ALL LIGHT in our Solar System. It is, in the final analysis, who we Truly Are on the Highest Level of our Being.

In regard to the Sun sign in the chart, noted astrologer Liz Greene writes: "The Ascendant flowers into our Sun. The Sun is the kind of hero we are. But the Ascendant is the QUEST on which we must embark. The Sun is why we are here. The Ascendant is how we get there." And there are many ways to make your Sun energy more specific when looking deeply into your chart. So working with your Sun sign energy is a very illuminating exercise! 

For instance, I clicked on the Sabian Symbol Oracle and got this symbol:

AQUARIUS 12: PEOPLE ON A VAST STAIRCASE, GRADUATED UPWARDS - You may feel that you are slowly proceeding in your search for higher understanding. Be careful not to concern yourself with those in front or behind. It is of little true consequence. Accept your position now and look forward to the wisdom to come. On a more mundane level, you need to be patient and trust that you and yours are heading in the right direction. Being able to observe life from a different level. Social gradations. Orders from above, in any sense of the meaning. Waiting for one's turn at the top.

If your Ascendant symbol is less glamourous (like mine, which is a scene of someone getting dental work! come on!) no worries, there is some level of information in there for you and it may reveal itself to you in meditation or in combination with other factors and influences in your chart.

Please don't panic if you don't know your exact birth time! The first step is to find your birth certificate. Many states require that a birth time is recorded at the time of birth, although this was not the case in many past decades. But still, start with your birth certificate. If you can't find it, contact your State to find out how to order a copy (each State has different procedures for this).  

If you can't find your birth certificate or if it doesn't have your birth-time, then check any baby-books you may have or talk to your mother or someone who remembers the circumstances of your birth. If you can at least pinpoint the time within 2 hours ('I went to the hospital right after the 11 o'clock news'), this reveals the correct Ascendant sign - and that's all most people have. And that's plenty!
