End-date?
the long count &
the false apocalypse

With a calendar, your days are numbered. @Curt8888

My theology, briefly, is that the universe was dictated but not signed. ~Christopher Morley

Note: all discussion of the Mayan calendar and the Maya refers to the height of their civilization, i.e. the classical period when the Mayan culture was very advanced. It was during this period that Mayan cities were developed, great advancements in science occurred - including in-depth knowledge of astronomy and mathematics - a writing system was developed, and engineering feats such as the construction of pyramids took place.

December 21, 2012 is indeed a date found in the Mayan Calendar, the 'Long Count' calendar specifically, which has a creation date of '4 Ahaw, 8 Kumk'u': August 11, 3114 BC Julian (or September 8, 3114 BC Gregorian) This date describes THE BEGINNING OF HISTORY as we know it (not the beginning of time). And (as described in the overview of this newsletter series) the end-date of December 21, 2012 does not signify what we have projected onto it. From Wikipedia:

"Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a popular belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the day that the calendar will go to the next level/b'ak'tun, at Long Count 13.0.0.0.0. The date on which the calendar will go to the next piktun (a complete series of 20 b'ak'tuns), at Long Count 1.0.0.0.0.0, will be on October 13, 4772. ... For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to mark the end of a whole cycle. To portray December 2012 as a doomsday event is a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in. http://bit.ly/12fZGNT

Indeed, popular Western culture has been inundated with movies, tv programs, books and websites touting a doomsday message concerning the date of 12/21/12. Many in the general public are unaware of the falsity of these claims and some believe the claims of *Mayan apocalypse*.

NASA scientists, for their part, are fed up with it. They have already released a video dated December 22, 2012 entitled 'Why the world didn't end yesterday': http://youtu.be/QY_Gc1bF8ds

the maya have
at least 20 calendars

"People write about prophecy in the name of the Maya. They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed." - Carlos Barrios, Mayan elder and Ajq'ij (ceremonial priest and spiritual guide) of the Eagle Clan http://bit.ly/U5kTVw

journey to galactic center Did you know that the Maya have at least 20 calendars that we know of? Of these 20 calendars there are five that they have not released to the world (can you imagine why?) These calendars govern things such as (to name a few) agriculture cycles, the planting of corn, the patterns of insects, and of the moon. In addition, there are calendars which describe the feminine/masculine radiation from the Sun, the Venus cycle, eclipses and other mind-boggling astronomical cycles (one of their calculations projects trillions - even quintillions! - of years into the future).

Aluna Joy, Mayan researcher who is intimate with the Mayans and their culture lists the calendars here: http://www.alunajoy.com/98june2.html She writes:

"One of the calendars is called TUN and has a cycle of 360 days. It is a cosmic galactic cycle (which reveals) perfect harmony with the cycles of the planets, stars, and galaxies. The Long Count is also a part of the OX LAJUJ BAKTUN calendar which has a cycle of 5200 years. This is the long count calendar that archeologists know something about. It is a prophetic calendar and marks the Suns/Worlds. This calendar describes the date of December 21, 2012 as a new dawn, the emergence of 'the 5th Sun'." http://bit.ly/VFnXab

Aluna states that "the Mayan Elders imparting this information focused mainly on a calendar called the Tzolk'in because it relates to the human being and can be used for our ascension process and to learn to live in harmony with nature and the cosmos."

As mentioned, the living Maya are allowed to speak of only 15 of their 20 calendars. They state that these 5 calendars "are the Calendars of humanity's cosmic ancestors." Their names are: WACH WOU; OX WOU; WIN WOU; NAWUAL WOU; NIMK' KU"

Modern archeologists chime in: on May 10, 2011 a Mayan Calendar was discovered by archeologists which goes way beyond 2012. "Newly discovered wall writings found in Guatemala show the famed Maya culture's obsession with cycles of time. But they also show additional calendars that go well beyond 2012." http://usat.ly/UkDy0a

So why have we chosen to focus so acutely on the date of December 21, 2012 as an end-date? As far as we can tell, the most likely definitive designer(s) of the intense western obsession with the date of December 21, 2012 are Terence McKenna and Jose Arguelles.

timewave zero &
terrence mckenna

*It is said that we create as much information in 2 days now as we did from the dawn of man through 2003.*

"Terence McKenna (November 16, 1946 - April 3, 2000) was an American ethnobotanist, philosopher, researcher, teacher, lecturer and writer on many subjects, such as human consciousness, language, the evolution of civilizations, the origin and end of the universe, and alchemy." http://bit.ly/Wa8sd

timewave McKenna theorized that the universe has "a teleological attractor at the end of time that increases interconnectedness, eventually reaching a singularity of infinite complexity in 2012," at which point anything and everything imaginable will occur simultaneously.

McKenna used the term "novelty" as a way to describe newness and massive dynamic change, reflecting an increase over time in the universe's interconnectedness, or organized complexity. He determined that when "novelty" is graphed over time, it creates a fractal waveform known as the "Timewave". The Timewave concept is based in part on the metaphysics of Alfred North Whitehead.

An example of novelty might be the emergence of a collection of people or ideas that have been brought together for the first time. Typically, periods of high novelty are marked by dynamic change and integration of new ideas. http://bit.ly/M744j

McKenna's research led him to believe that the Timewave quantifies the ebb and flow of a process that culminates on December 21, 2012. He described December 21, 2012 as the omega point of infinite novelty. He called this point in time Timewave Zero, Zero Point or The Singularity. http://bit.ly/UkE26t

In other words, at Zero Point all of Time would RE-SET. Time as we know it would collapse into a Singularity and something new would emerge.

McKenna sought to map "novelty" in a computer program. He concluded that the graph produced by the program appears to show great periods of novelty corresponding with major shifts in humanity's biological and socio-cultural evolution.

He believed that the events of any given time are resonantly related to the events of other times, and chose the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as the basis for calculating his end date of November 2012. When he later discovered this date's proximity to the end of the 13th b'ak'tun of the Maya calendar, he revised his hypothesis so that the two dates matched.

McKenna's predictions of 'timewave zero' included, among other things: possibilities for a new extremely 'novel' technology that would bring humanity together; time travel; the birth of self-conscious Artificial Intelligence; and a global UFO visitation. As we will see in Part 4 of this newsletter series, these ideas are all highly Aquarian.

the harmonic convergence &
jose arguelles

Jose Argelles (January 24, 1939 - March 23, 2011) "was an American author and artist. He was the founder of Planet Art Network and the Foundation for the Law of Time. He held a Ph.D. in Art History and Aesthetics from the University of Chicago and taught at numerous colleges, including Princeton University and the San Francisco Art Institute. As one of the originators of the Earth Day concept, Argelles founded the first Whole Earth Festival in 1970, at Davis, California." http://bit.ly/rhGTvh

global meditation Arguelles made a significant contribution to the modern global consciousness movement; and he was the one who brought the date of December 21, 2012 to the public. He connected the dots between McKenna's work on 'Zero Point' in 2012 and the December 21, 2012 Mayan Calendar 'end-date,' combined this information with his own research, synthesized these ideas, and expressed them in a way that seized our attention.

Arguelles announced something called 'the Harmonic Convergence' to which he assigned the date August 16-17, 1987. It was at this time also that he announced the importance of December 21, 2012, stating that the Harmonic Convergence would begin the final 25-year countdown to the end of the Mayan Long Count in 2012. December 21, 2012 would be 'the end of history' (not the end of the world) and the beginning of a new 5,125-year cycle, characterized by harmony and peace.

People really responded to both of these dates. For starters, there was a global resonance with the Harmonic Convergence date; it became the world's first globally synchronized meditation. On August 16, 1987, thousands of people gathered at the Mayan pyramids and other sacred places around the world. And the 2012 obsession was born.

NOTE: Argelles came up with the August 16-17, 1987 for the Harmonic Convergence through his interpretation of Mayan Cosmology. He saw that date as the end of a long period of "hell" cycles which began on the day that Hernn Corts landed in Mexico (April 22, 1519 - correlating to the date "1 Reed" on the Aztec/Mayan Calendar, which was the day sacred to the Mesoamerican cultural hero Quetzalcoatl). According to Arguelles' calculations, 9 hell cycles of 52 years each ended on August 16-17, 1987. The Harmonic Convergence, occurring at the end of these hell cycles, signaled the beginning of a new age of universal peace. http://bit.ly/3oX24D

blank pages

When the book of time turns to blank pages - and the prophets are blocked from viewing the future, it is not written that this will be the end of all things, but a new beginning. A phoenix from the ashes. An opportunity for the human race to write a new book and to fill its pages with all the beauty of the cosmos. - soundlessdawn, YouTube

There is a new frequency that is pulling us forward from the future. - Lloydine Arguilles (wife of Jose Arguelles)

As an interesting aside, and for your consideration: It is said that when subjects were asked to go into a meditative state and visualize the future, something puzzling occurred across the board. Everyone *sent forward through time* was unable to travel beyond December 21, 2012. They all hit a blip, or a timeline contraction, where everything went white or blanked out. It was as if all the timelines funneled into a convergence point or singularity. Additionally, all those who arrived at this point in time reported ecstatically blissful experiences and a desire to return to that experience.

No matter how you slice it,there is something about 12-21-12 that grips the human mind. "Approaching 2012, it's as if there is a strange time-attractor in the sky. We feel this pull instinctively, as if we are caterpillars undergoing metamorphosis and becoming butterflies; we are time-coded by evolution to change into new forms." (Barbara Hand Clow)

In the rest of this newsletter series we will explore the some of the layers of this point in time and how we can interact with it in ways that uplift humanity.
