Exciting News on our Lower East Side Community Center |
Dear Friend, 
As Rosh Hashanah approaches, the Educational Alliance is looking forward to exciting new beginnings in the coming year. Today, I'm happy to announce that our brand new community center at 197 East Broadway, which opens next Fall, will be named the Manny Cantor Center. Manny Cantor was from a generation of immigrants that came to the U.S. with the dream of a better life. So it's fitting that the community center that bears his name will provide an expanded and enhanced slate of high quality education, health & wellness, and arts programming for New Yorkers of all ages, ethnicities and religions in our neighborhood.

Additionally, we're welcoming Rabbi Joanna Samuels as the Executive Director of the Manny Cantor Center. A community-oriented professional with extensive leadership experience, she comes to the Educational Alliance with a background in community engagement, advocacy, and education. Joanna will grow and develop the center's programming together with the Lower East Side's diverse community, which she will connect and engage with in the coming months.
The Educational Alliance will continue to make a difference in the lives of so many New Yorkers well into the future. I thank you for your ongoing support and participation in our success.
